Sometimes timing is everything...
Uuuuuhg I had terrible timing tonight. The entire shift I was just...off.
Is there such a thing as improving bad timing in a SC situation? Or are these just one of those nights you grin and bear :P
I've found that sometimes taking a 5-10minute break can help set your timing back on track, but not always. Any other suggestions?
Re: Sometimes timing is everything...
A change of mind. A mental break and a sprinkle of confidence works me.
Re: Sometimes timing is everything...
Step back and ease off on the hustle for ten minutes. Just sit and have a drink (alcoholic or not) and chill by yourself at the bar.
Re: Sometimes timing is everything...
I know what you mean. Some days are just "off" - I feel gross, awkward, and self-conscious. I don't even think it's "true" in that I don't think I look any different or anything, but I just feel it inside and it makes me not able to dance confidently or act normally with people.
Sometimes I can shake it off with a break. Other times it's just a wash. Hopefully it doesn't happen too often.
Re: Sometimes timing is everything...
when i'm so frustrated that my hustle is wrecked, i just make the choice to stop trying and amuse myself. i tip girls on stage, i play a game at the bar, i snack on something, etc.
it might not land me customers, but it does sometimes (they approach me because i look relaxed/content), and if not.. i'm no worse off and usually less annoyed than if i'd kept forcing it.
Re: Sometimes timing is everything...
Awww girls! I was in the same boat the other day. For the first time EVER I walked out with a negative profit and couldn't afford to tip out.
There were 80+ other girls...... on day shift..... and it isn't even close to 'rent week' yet. WTF??
My club is big, but it still has waaaay too many girls. And I think thats what hurts $ more than anything. I can bank in a 'dead' room if theres only 10 other dancers. 80 though..........
Re: Sometimes timing is everything...
The title of this thread was my Sunday night exactly. It felt like all the customers were being snagged right before or after I would approach them and I was just off by a few minutes. IDK if this is what you're talking about but I hate the nights that are the opposite of lucking out, meaning always bad lucking out if you know what I mean.
It is hard on those nights because faking a positive attitude can be hard, and usually all it takes is positivity to have a great night.
Re: Sometimes timing is everything...
I know what you mean, and after this weekend I am NEVER working a shift on a full moon again! Nothing but DRAMA and bullshit all weekend long, ugh!
Re: Sometimes timing is everything...
I felt my timing was off after working for 8 hours and trying to work an additional 8 the other night. I was fine during the first 8 hours but exhausted the next.
Re: Sometimes timing is everything...
Sometimes I really do think it's just luck. If you just happen to be walking by or if you just happen to be at the right time & place. We all have these nights. I know my off night was this past thurs. (last night that I worked)
I'm so discouraged I haven't been back for the whole weekend to redeem myself.
Re: Sometimes timing is everything...
I think this all the time. Sometimes timing IS everything, and I know that I've made more money than other girls just bc I have better timing sometimes.
To me, though, good timing can only be planned to a certain extent. Beyond that, it's luck...pure luck.

That is exactly what was happening to me . I'd get to a cusy too early or too late. Either before or after another girl approached at the right time and right after the custy got there or right before they were ready to leave. Just bad, bad luck all night. But staying positive...last night was better!
