Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
Everyone is different and i think it depends widely on your previous skills and experience. I banked day one and have always been consistant. I learn new things everyday and after 4 years, i feel like I still have untapped potential, i love this job.

Me too. My first day I worked a dayshift. Dead as a doornail. I made $250 while everyone, and I mean everyone else barely made house (which was $10)
Like MeanGirl said, I learn and apply new skills every day.

id say a week or 2. but to make good consistant money hustling and knowing how to work guys individually tailored to them- over a year to get it really down.

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
i made really good money my first week dancing, maybe because of the novelty. then it kind of went down the second and third week. i'd say by the end of the first month i started consistantly doing well though.
then i noticed another jump after about the year mark. i attribute that to sales skills getting better.

If guys are initiating conversation with you, you should absolutely ask them for a lapdanc with in three or four songs of conversation. that's what i do, anyway and it works for me.

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
I have only been dancing for a month, but here is my input. ;D
So, how long did it take you to bank? Right away.
Did you do well your first or second shift?
I made incredible money on my very 1st shift. Was it luck? Yeah, it definitely was. I sat with some VIPs who gave me a total of $400 to just sit and hang out. It was an amazing way to begin my dancing career, but it did leave me a bit spoiled when the "bad days" happened recently.
My 2nd shift, I did well too. I wasn't quite as lucky as that first shift, but I did make good money and again, sat with high-rollers and got way overpaid/overtipped.
Or did you not actually start making money until you were in the biz for months? N/A - personally, I don't see why it would take anyone that long to start making $$$. Especially with all the greats tips/tricks here on SW and in HH.....PLUS....men love the "new girl". Everyone will want a dance from ya - so I would use that to your advantage. Play it up!
How did you do your first shift/week as an entertainer?
I was nervous as hell for the whole first week. During my 2nd shift, I had an anxiety attack on stage, and guys were commenting on how bad I was shaking. I was hot, sweaty, and wanted to throw up. But I stuck it out. By Friday, I was more comfortable. I made $1200 that week, for 12 hours of work. I chose to work 4-hour shifts, so I went in on a Monday, Wednesday, and a Friday.
Since then, I have had some "bad days", (and actually, last week was a bad WEEK, that "new girl" thing is wearing off), but I try to stay positive. Next week WILL be better! I keep telling myself that. My average won't always be $100/hr, sometimes it's WAY less, but it's also been WAY more. I guess with this job, it's just impossible to predict. Good luck!

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
Guys like the new girls. They see them as more "real". On my first day, I was just honest with the guys and told them I was nervous it was my first day. That worked so well I said that for 2 weeks.
I made a decent living from the start compared to any other job I was qualified for at the time. It was probably 2 years tho before I was consider a top girl. It took me awhile to figure out what the customers were really looking for and to learn and apply good sale techniques.

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
I started making money the minute I hit the stage, but I started in the late 90's. I usually made about $2K a week when I first started. I know times are definately different now, though.

Ditto I started in 2000 and had the same experience, but I cant speak for now.....

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
I didn't do so good on my 1st day...I remember only making $20...but that was because it was my 1st time and I was SOOO nervous and I didn't have the guts to get out there and hustle.
Everyday was a day for me to apply what I learned and get more and more better. Now, I make pretty good...like everyone said, it all depends on your exp. and skills.

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
14 shifts before I started making good money and about 8 months before I started making great money.

what did that have to do with my post?

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
I was absolutely pitiful when I first started. It took a couple months for me to even sell my first dance. Didn't help that I was a minor in Oregon. I'm actually kind of amazed I didn't give up on it.
I still wouldn't say I bank (I started November 12th) but I am doing much much better lol. I tend to be a top earner when I go to a different club (get a little intimidated at my first club still).

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
When i first started , the money I thought was great. I dont remember what I made on my first shift but I do remember my 2nd was 400 dollars, on a tuesday. However, this was in 2000. Times and money were different then. I have definately seen a decline in income over the last 8 years and I have to work harder for my money now, which used to come so easily. The industry seems different to me . I suppose it takes a bit of time for different people to adjust to what routine is sort of comfortable for them.
Also, this time of year (at least here on the east coast) is pretty slow....
doesnt pick up till the fall.

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
It took me several years to get to the my current consistent earnings. I never had new girl money. I am a top earner now after dancing 8/9 years.
My first year i made meager earnings ie: not even $100 a night most nights. (i was so poor at the time that i was grateful for the 50 bucks that i wouldnt have had otherwise). SOME DANCERS MAKE MONEY RIGHT AWAY. OTHERS TAKE TIME. There is no 1 factor. As an "ethnic dancer" in my area i had a few other factors to also deal with, it took a while to use my look/background to my advantage in the areas that i have danced in.
Website support wasnt very easy to find back then, i was extremely shy, would skip stage sets, afraid of the customers, and my body wasnt up to par. Through the years i eliminated the factors that prevented me from making money. I talk to any guy that comes through the door even if its just a joke or hello. I smile onstage, and i dont have to worry about the basketball team walking in while im onstage at this point in my life, lol. BA and weight loss also incresed my $$. AGE also helps me now as at first i was too immature to converse w/ the big $ custies. I also have my hustle down...which back in the day no one would help anyone with.
Giving up if you dont make money right away isnt always the best decision. i currently BA which upped the $$ and have made enough to own my home and finance my education. Im sure most people would have quit if they made what i did those first 2 years, but now i cant think of a better higher paying occupation for myself :0)

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
So, how long did it take you to bank? Instantly, considering the low earning potential of the dive I started out in. A month later I moved to a club with higher earning potential and because one of their top earners right away.
Did you do well your first or second shift? Yes. But again, considering the low earning potential of the club. With a few years experience under my belt now, it's not what I'd call good money now....
Or did you not actually start making money until you were in the biz for months? My money kept spiraling upwards, but with the economic slowdown, it's going down again.
How did you do your first shift/week as an entertainer? Technically I danced bad (who didn't?) but had a great time.

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
I have about 8 1/2 months' experience, total, and I just came back after taking a year off. So I'm pretty new at the game.
Money isn't consistent for me. Anytime I have ever banked, external factors have played a far greater role than hustling skills. I'm not a particularly good hustler (about the only thing I have going for me is persistence) and the inconsistency of my earnings reflects this. The club has always been a big factor for me. At one, I always walked out with several hundred/shift; at another, I barely broke even after tipout; at the rest, it just varied a lot from night to night. I would give my eyeteeth to get my game down, because I know that I will bank consistently once I do. Not sure how long that will take, though.
I did bank on my very first night. Over $700 with absolutely no clue what I was doing! It was luck. I was too shy and would give up after a couple of rejections, but men kept beckoning me over and practically dragging me to the back rooms. Then on my second or third shift, I walked out with next to nothing. That definitely brought home to me that I had a long way to go!
My first week or two were filled with poor stage dancing and a lot of wandering around the club trying to get up the courage to ask guys for dances. A lot of them liked me, though, and it was back in 2006 in a different city from where I am now and they were a lot freer with their $20 bills. I was stunned by how much money I was able to bring home, and with so much less effort than I had put into my former barista job. Of course, I spent it all very quickly.
It's kinda depressing to think that my average earnings now are a lot less than they were at that first club or at my favorite club. Guys aren't beckoning me over for dances and they seem a lot less excited by me than they used to be. It may be a combination of my 10 pound weight gain and the particular demographic that visits my new club. However, I make enough to survive and I know that if I were as clueless and timid as I was when I first started, I would definitely be making a lot less than I do. I'm shopping for a new club soon, and hopefully the club-magic will work once again and I'll bank. And hopefully one day soon, everything will come together and I'll know how to hustle, and then I'll bank wherever I go!

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
I think I made around 200 the first night I ever danced and I thought that was great, lol. I think the most I ever made at that club was 700 or 800 but most nights were 250 dollar nights.
When I started dancing at a more upscale club I noticed an immediate increase in my earnings. My average was 400 during the week and 700 weekend nights.

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
I mean honestly, once you decide you want to bank you will. Don't wait for the money to come get you, go after it. Read the hustle hunt on here and use some of those skills to your advantage. Everybody's different, sometimes guys just fall over the "virgin" dancer while other's immediately sense the lack of confidence.
I stayed away from gossiping girls and troublemakers and watched the ones making the most money. I learned from the hustlers and top earners. I asked them questions and watched them. I noticed how they danced, their music, their look and approach. You don't have to "copy" them but let them be your inspiration.

Re: How long did it take you to start making $$$ when you first started dancing?
I started making good money right away- but it was because I read hustle hut for months before I ever went in. My earnings average has consistently gone up since then, I went from a 250 average dancer when i first started (at a club in florida in the summer), to doubling my average now, over a year later. For awhile I was stuck in a rut at around a 350 average no matter where i worked, but then I changed my outlook and have started making considerably more.
The main thing that has helped me make more money is remembering to not take anything personally. I am the product and the seller, the customer is the buyer and the consumer, I shouldn't be offended if he doesn't want a dance. It's like me not buying a pink shirt in the mall, I just happen to like black better. Knowing my target customer base has also helped me make more money as I don't waste time on guys who will not spend on me.
