back pain
hey ladies. i do alot of floor work...especially that move where you lay on your back and pull your legs back to the floor. anyway, last week i began to feel a lot of pain in my mid-lower back area. I bent over to check it and i noticed this huge bump on my spine...i think its on the vertabre but i'm not sure. i think it might be a bone spur? idk though because the swelling is only half as bad as it was last week and it does not hurt as much as it did. if it was a bone spur, would it be shrinking in size? i can't really afford to go to the doctor right now, as i do not have insurance. have any of you girls experienced anything similar? can i expect for this to heal on its own?

Re: back pain
Its called a stripperbump. Jenna Jameson wrote about it in her tell-all book, how to make love like a porn star.
I wouldn't worry, its pretty normal.

Re: back pain
^^^ Yup. Stripperbumb. I used to have a HUGE painful one when I first started dancing. I just tried to ice it when I wasn't at work and use that part of my back on the ground sparingly. It eventually toughened up and went down, though I can still see a tiny nub when I bend over, though it doesn't hurt anymore. Just work through it carefully. I look at it as similar to getting calluses on your feet.

Re: back pain
So ladies, I finally went to an orthropedic doctor after months of lower back pain and a mysterious bump on my mid-lower spine. He examined my back and did x-rays of my spine. He said that my spine is not out of line or anything, but that it is a bit inflammed and that it also protrudes more than some people's because i am quite thin. So i guess this means that I have the "stripper bump". Will the bump go away when i stop dancing? Any tips on how to get rid of it?
