It looks like a cold sore in the pic. How long have you had it? Cold sores usually go away after a couple of days, leaving behind a patch of damaged skin that takes a week or so longer to completely heal. If it's a cold sore it'll look and feel like a blister, with clear yellowy or greenish fluid in it (but DON'T pop it, whatever you do!!). Carmex will help it heal more quickly, and take a lysine supplement on an empty stomach in the morning if you can.
Abreva is extremely expensive and it's useless once the blister is that big. Save your money. You have to use Abreva at the first sign of a tingle, before the blister forms, for it to work. Once the blister is that big, all you can do is try to heal it. They make topical meds like Campho-Phenique to dry out cold sores, but in my experience that just results in a really huge, nasty, crusty scab that takes forever to go away.
Carmex is cheap and keeps the skin smooth enough to put makeup over it (don't reuse any makeup applicators that have touched your cold sore though). Just keep the area clean and dry with a layer of Carmex on it and no makeup unless you're at work and really need it, and it should heal up completely in a week or so.
Oh, and not all cold sores itch. I've got one right now that's not itchy at all.
I used to get those! Any time I ate peanut oil, I'd get this huge pimple like sore. I put campho-phenique (sp?) on it a few times and it went away. Does it hurt? Mine always hurt.... but eventually went away.
Cold sore. Keep petroleum Jelly on it.
And check if that zit next to your cooter is really a zit. Seems odd for these to both come at the same time.
^^^ Good point. Cold sores and genital herpes come from the same virus, and it's possible for one to be transferred somewhere else - or you could get it on your mouth and your vag from blowing and fucking a guy with herpes.
^I was thinking the same thing girls. That if she were having an outbreak, it'd make sense for them both to appear. Even if one appeared and a few days later the second one did, that's close enough.
Did it tingle at all before you noticed the bump?
It doesn't look like a cold sore to me. The pic is a bit blurry, but I usually get pimples right above my lip from clogged pores. (I have extremely oily skin) but they don't look like that either (at least not on me.) I get this really big one right on the edge of my lip every month during my period and it hurts like going down a razor blade slide and landing in a pool of alcohol.
I think it's a pimple, a whitehead will probably form on it over the next couple of days. Just leave it alone. Some toothpaste or clearasil will help dry it up.
I get those sometimes too.
It was never a cold sore though. It was just a huge bump that was tender to the touch and then went away. Cold sores always get crusty and are unsightly.
I got tired of getting them, quit eating chik-fil-a, quit getting them. Several years later, I eat peanut oil in just about every meal and never get them.
It looks like a boil to me but Ive never had a cold sore. If it is a boil/pimple keeping a heat pack on it will do wonders.
eta: I just looked at it again now and it looked more like a blister this time. is it a blister??? like puffy??? coz boils arent like that they are way deep down and blisters are on the surface.
I can't really see good enough to give a opinion but i think you have super sexy lips. Sorry I know that was no help;) I hope it gets better soon.
It's not just her lips, devilkitty! TheSexKitten chose her screenname well, she's one of the sexiest girls I've ever met.
Just enjoy it while you can! I wish I'd known it when I was young and pretty, LOL!
