Loosing weight/getting toned
This might be really a stupid question but here it goes: I've gained about 15 punds in the past year and I'm ready to loose it. My question is though, if I do cardip 5X a week and eat really healthy, will it get me back to the way I was or will my skin be kind of loose and juggly? lol I don't knwo how to explain but will I get back my tone? I'm especially worried about my tummy.
Re: Loosing weight/getting toned
I guess it depends how tall your are, but from my prospective (5'10'') 15lbs isn't enough to cause loose skin.
I wouldn't mind losing the weight I put on this year either!
Re: Loosing weight/getting toned
I'm 4'10" and I've lost a few lbs and yeah, I'm a little jiggly in the belly and thigh area. I'm also 31, so I don't doubt that has something to do with it. It's temporary though-unless it's a LOT of weight or you lose it very quickly, you should get your tone back.
Belly dancing is very good for getting the tone back in your belly!
Re: Loosing weight/getting toned
How about incorporating weight lifting into your regimine
Re: Loosing weight/getting toned
as long as you're doing it the healthy way and drink a ton of water you'll be fine.....that only time ive seen loose skin is on tv when people get gastric bypass and loose a ton of weight all of a sudden. if its just 15 lbs your skin has the elasticity to bounce back to normal.
Re: Loosing weight/getting toned
I've said it before and I'll say it again pilates does wonders for toning. I just started back doing mine 3x weekly last week and already notice a difference.
Re: Loosing weight/getting toned
i hate cardio... but my friend told me cardio/running helps with loose skin.
Re: Loosing weight/getting toned
15 lbs really isn't enough to cause something like that. Maybe stretch marks, but no loose skin.
Loose skin usually happens when severely overweight people lose like 100 lbs or more.
I have been up and down with my weight my whole life, about 20 lbs or so. I have some stretch marks on my hips from it and thats about it

Thanks guys!
I need to sing up for pilates classes asap! Does anyone recommend any DVD's for beginners?

Windsor's is great. I am pretty sure you can find them on e-bay for cheap.

Age is a factor, you're right. You might end up with a few stretch marks. You might not. I second the recommendations to drink LOTS of water and weight train.
