Websites that list fat/calorie content in recipies?
Hi!
I've been really trying to cook from scratch and avoid perservatives and the like lately. Does anybody know of any websites that have some yummy recipies with the calorie/fat content listed? I know that I could figure out the fat calorie content on my own , but I like looking through the recipies and basing my decesion on what to make based on the nutritional content.
Thanks a million!

I don't coutnt calories or anything but if you make thinks from scratch, just buy the foods whole and fresh. If it happens to come in a package, read every ingredient listed. If you can't pronounce it, your liver won't like it.
If a recipe requires a pre-made product -- find something else or recreate it using the primary ingredients listed.
It's hard to get fat on plain old regular food.

I LOVE cookinglight.com
I get their magazine and EVERYTHING I've made has been well received.
You also get all the nutritional info with every recipe

Allrecipes as mentioned above is good (you just click the button that says nutrition next to the ingredients.
I also use recipezaar.com (has a lot!!) and sparkrecipes.com, which is ALL healthy.

Sometimes I can be really anal about calories and how many are in what. It's a prob I've had ever since I was in middle school. Anyhow, I always use www.calorieking.com to find calorie content in specific foods. Recipezaar usually has calories listed, but sometimes their numbers aren't accurate and/or they leave out certain ingredients. They usually tell you in small print, tho, when this happens.

I just noticed this thread! Better Homes and Gardens is a more "traditional" cooking recipe brand but they're really great about listing calorie content for all their recipes. The BHG cookbooks are some of my favorites, too.
Good for you for cooking more at home, VP!
