Vivid and recurring dreams
I keep having dreams involving steps or stairs. And I also keep dreaming I'm living in an old Victorian house but I'm actually a person from that era while living there. I can draw the house and describe how everything looked, even how my husband looked. He and I made love every day and it was good.:P The only odd thing is that the stairs in this old Victorian were glass./:O
Can anybody make anything of this or have similiar experiences to contribute?

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
It could be your brain making a "Romantic movie" for you during REM sleep. Or a past-life memory.
I never have re-occuring dreams, probably because of my ADD. LOL

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
Recurring dreams are important ones that you didn't get the meaning of. So they will keep recurring until you get it.
What did you do in the dream involving the stairs? Is the house familiar to you? Is the husband familiar to you?

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
I found these on dreammoods.com...
To see a staircase in your dream, symbolizes change and transformation.
To see glass in your dream, symbolizes passivity or protection. You may be putting up an invisible barrier around you in order to protect yourself in a situation or relationship. To dream that you are drinking from a glass, is an omen of good luck.
To dream that you are having sex with an ex or someone who is not your current mate, denotes your reservations about embarking in a new relationship or situation. You may feel nervous about exposing yourself or currently feel a resurgence of those old emotions and feelings that you felt back when you and your ex were together.
I don't know...but I think you would learn a lot from a past life regression hypnosis session :)

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
The guy I was having sex with is someone I've never seen before.
I've never seen the house either but I could draw it out for you and tell you exactly how it looks and describe the furniture in it as well.
Yeah the staircase it there as soon as you enter the front door this last staircase was glass.
I've had many, many dreams involving staircases and elevators.
The same house is in my dreams too.

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
What does it represent to you? Really, only you can interpret your dreams, because stairs might mean something to me and not to you you know what I mean?
If I were to have that dream I would think it was about overcomming something, climbing a ladder, achieving a goal, ETC
-
Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
I am definately trying to acheive a goal (finish these last couple days, past state board and get a job). I also would love to have an old Victorian house. And of course a man that'd give me hot sex every night. ;D

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
Maybe you're climbing the stairs (ie finishing your degree etc ) to achieve all the things you want including a hot man and an old victorian house?

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
I've been having these weird, fun dreams where I am the star in my own movie, usually an adventure/comedy with a dark twist. I wish to hell I could write them down, there are things that make me laugh and laugh. Sometimes I know I am dreaming but it's still realistic, and I say 'wow, people would love this one!' Sometimes there will even be Monty Pythonesque musical numbers in them.
I have no idea what they mean, but they are the most fun you can have sleeping, ever.

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
^Hey I'll star in your movie if you'll star in mine.:P ;)

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
I have a new puppy. Twice I had a very vivid dream where he poops on the floor, steps all in it, and then runs and jumps all around the house, especially on my nice yellow bedspread.

I used to have loads of fun in my dreams. I was always an action hero. Vivid colors, great action. Awesome. Hopefully those dreams will start up again. I would love going to bed.

Your lucky that's just a dream, I've had nasty dog shit-cidents in real life... shudders. You have no idea how hard it is to clean poop off a wall til you've done it.
-
Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
Oh, he's not my first dog by a long shot - I've cleaned shit off of practically anything you can name...in reality, I prompted the dream - I'm the one who accidentally got shit on the bedspread in the course of cleaning up one of his accidents - which have been rare. Actually he's been really good, even waking me up at night to go out - and I've only had him a week.

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
ive been dreaming ive been fighting someone the last couple nights. really brutally hurting someone, its really creepy.
heres what that website said..
Fighting
To dream that you participate in a fight, indicates inner turmoil. Some aspect of yourself is in conflict with another aspect of yourself. Perhaps an unresolved or unacknowledged part is fighting for its right to be heard. It may also parallel a fight or struggle that you are going through in your waking life.
i think its spot on.
i like that website thanks for the link!

OK, I've let this percolate a few days and have a few ideas to test with you. The old house may symbolize that you value old traditions, older ones than many of your contemporaries value. The staircases and elevators may symbolize your desire to elevate youself over where you are in life currently. The sex with someone you are living with I am less certain of. Possibly it means you feel the need for closeness with someone in a stable relationship, probably someone new to you or someone you havent known long. If this is the meaning, I think this implies your dancing days are over. And if so, you probably already know that somehow.
-
Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
^I don't have anyone I am close to intimately right now but I'd like it if I did.
As far as staircases go, yes I do want to elevate above the place I am right now financially. I very much want to be successful at my new career.
I am pretty sure my dancing days are over but I hate to say never again b/c if I had to I would. I'm not above it.
I do have some traditional values but a lot of contempory ones as well. I am open-minded and weigh out all options before making choices.
I somehow know I will do decent financially and my life will stabilize more than it ever has before but I am a little afraid of it b/c I've never been a really stable person.

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
i keep having the same dream over and over... but it's easy to interpret. In my dream I'm at work... and someone I know walks into my club... and I'm just hiding from them the whole dream. it's pretty straight forward.lol.

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
^^ Since the stairs didn't seem foreboding to you, I think your dream is telling you go for it. I don't have as much to go on in you bedmate dream sequence.

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
greenidlady! do u know for years ive had the similiar dream.
except in my dream im walking thru the house looking for something. I go up a flight of stairs, the stuff gets older. i go up and up flights of stairs... and the stuff gets older and it gets so old its in victorian era. and im just rifling thru shit like pearls and old perfume bottles and lace and vanity mirrors. how strange, i never find what im looking for :)

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
I woke up on sunday crying my eyes out for reasons I have no clue of. It will happen once or twice a year and I never have any recollection of what happened in the dream to make me cry, all I know is I wake up with tears rolling down my face.
-
Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
I only wake up crying if it's a dream about something bad happening to my loved ones.
Otherwise the sad thing about my dreams is I often have deep emotions in my dreams that are "blunted" in everyday waking life.
I agree with threlayer about the OP's dream. Good interpretation.

Re: Vivid and recurring dreams
Last night I dreamt my apartment was flooding. I wasn't drowning or anything. I was actually happy because it meant I'd be moving and starting out clean.
In another part of my dream one of the gyms where I work was totally renovated into something much much better BUT while everything was beautiful - the toilet bowls were funky.
