Newbie in Australia
Hi everyone
I've moved to Melbourne for six months from the UK, and I really want to start dancing. I have been browsing the forums for a while, but still have a few questions.
Are there any clean clubs in Melbourne that allow girls with tattoos? From my reading, Dallas Dancers and Centrefolds seem like they might, but I just wanted to check :)
I have a pin up mermaid on my left side, some writing on my right side, a bow on each hip and moon symbols on the back of my thighs. I'm not covered or anything, but my tattoos aren't small, either.
Also, I have a few queries about the audition process over here. I have NEVER danced before, and I'm worried that clubs won't want to teach me. Does anyone know if the Melbourne clubs do training sessions for new girls? I'm not scared of taking my clothes off at all, I'm just worried about not being a very good dancer! Will it be a problem that I don't know how to pole dance?
I'd be absolutely fine with meeting the person in charge of hiring and learning some moves from them, being shown what to do, and then going straight out to work if need be, but I'm terrified of just being expected to just get out there and do it straight away!
Are there any Melbourne dancers that can help me out with some answers?
Thanks so much, this forum is really great :)

Re: Newbie in Australia
The dancing industry has a huge turnover. As a result clubs expect to get mostly girls who have never danced before.
Don't stress, you will be shown the rules, you will probably be given some training, some clubs insist you do classes even if you are an experienced dancer. Don't stress about not being able to do pole tricks -it's fun to do but they don't make you money and increase your chances of injury (and you can't work properly with a broken rib, or a sprained ankle- trust me, been there).
If you are really lucky an experienced dancer will take you under her wing and show you some tips, it isn't unusual for a dancer to help a new girl out by getting her to join her in a double with a customer. (good sales tactic actually "hey this girl is new, how about you take us both for a dance?")
I work in a club that has a undeserved bad reputation because they do allow some touching (personally I think it makes life easier than being yelled at everytime a happy customer touches my shoulder) so I won't recommend it.
Every club has a different atmosphere. Some clubs even change from night to night, and sometimes it just depends on the group of girls who are working there at the time as to whether it is good or not. So do stick it out for a few nights even if you don't like it, it could just be that night has all of the backstabbing bitches, or all the skanky ones doing more than they should.
Which also brings me to the point of NEVER EVER go past your personal limits no matter what. You can still make money being classy and modest in a club full of sluts (believe me I've been there too). It is YOUR body, just because you are a stripper doesn't mean you have to buy into the stereotype and become a drunken slut who will do anything for money.
It's a great job, but you do need to keep your head to get the best from it. Oh and one last thing -do a budget and SAVE some of the money!!!!
Good luck!

I'm much less worried about never having danced before, now.
ok, so now I'm not so worried about being a novice, does anybody know about decent clubs in Melbourne that will hire girls with tattoos?
