Re: "Newbie on the Pole" Pics
Those are great pictures. I also want to go play on a playground now.
I tried a pole for the first time at Burning Man this year. I found a camp that had a structure with a stage and pole, and some of the Portland, Or strippers whose camp it was taught me a couple of things. Not only that, but I was practicing in the middle of a major 8-hour long duststorm (notice the dust particles in the picture taken with a flash). It was awesome.
But MAN I was sore afterwards. Sore and bruised all to hell. And I'm really strong for a chick (I want to be a firefighter, so I lift weights a ton). Even my fingers hurt.
Still, like I said, it was freaking awesome.
Re: "Newbie on the Pole" Pics
^^^ there were so many poles at burning man!!
Re: "Newbie on the Pole" Pics
Honey, your back muscles are fucking awesome.
Re: "Newbie on the Pole" Pics
^^^ Shy - Thanks!! I work really hard at 'em, though sometime I think they look better than they actually work.
Re: "Newbie on the Pole" Pics
honey- you're hot. sigh- I wish I had muscle tone
Re: "Newbie on the Pole" Pics
lol CHEATER. i saw u using the other pole to get urself up there. :) no but seriously if u lived close id teach you an easy way! and the more u try, the more graceful you get, the easier it gets, and the less it hurts the next day :)
let me try to explain. the jeans and flip flops will make it impossible. go out there with shorts and ditch the flops. your legs need to be dry so they can stick,
your hand placement is good, go as high as you can, swing your whole body to the left still holding the pole and kick your right leg as high as it can go and catch it on the pole while bringing your left leg up slowly- you need alot of upper body strength.
the next trick is letting go of the pole and hanging from one leg, now thats fun. damn i need a pole in my house so i can record and teach :)

No, I didn't use another pole. It looks like it in one of those pics (my foot is in mid-air and aligned with the pole behind it), but in realiry, it's too far back for my leg to reach. If I ever attempt this again, I will take more shots, so you can see! I was sore for 4 days! Crazy!
Want to try it again, but scared to be sore again for so long!
Re: "Newbie on the Pole" Pics
Well I think for a first attempt you look fine=]

...but I think I just like doing it for fun! It is a damn good workout.
Age has nothing to do with the bruising. We have a 20 year old who just started dancing and is attacking the pole with great ferocity--and she has the bruises to prove it, lol! And the ribs are a sensitive area with the pole stuff, I bruised a rib once using a new pole but didn't figure out how until I tried the same trick the next day and OW!
But once I figured out that's how I never bruised it again. The body learns...
You are right it is a good workout, and fun. It also can help with confidence levels or overcoming nerves when starting at a new club.
But one thing, a woman such as yourself will never need the pole to make money.
Re: "Newbie on the Pole" Pics
i have a pic somewhere of me from a while back doing pole tricks on a playground.
playgrounds rock!
cute pics!
Re: "Newbie on the Pole" Pics
I wish my playground had poles! go online and order the x-pole i just got one for my house it friggin rules!
Re: "Newbie on the Pole" Pics
Shit woman that took a few months for me to do!
Re: "Newbie on the Pole" Pics
Totally, people don't understand how much physical endurance is required to actually use the pole. Anyone can shove their womanly parts in someone's face... the real talent is in performing the perfect deadman lay or windmill.
