Re: NYC: Legz Diamond Redux
What's up with all these mystery clubs all of the sudden!?!?
Here's another one.....
Text I received about 2 weeks ago...
"Hope all is well. As you may have heard, I am opening a New, Exclusive, high-end gentlemens club in mid November. I will be holding interviews and auditions 10/22-10/24 Wed, Thurs, Fri from 5-8pm. Place: 410 8th ave between 30-31st street on the 2nd floor of Blarney Stones Restaurant. Hope to see you there."
Re: NYC: Legz Diamond Redux
^^^^ Who sent you that text? Was it a forward?
Ultra weird.
Re: NYC: Legz Diamond Redux
Everyone is on the sneak for some reason. It's really annoying.
Saint Venus Theater, Sapphire, the Nouveau Legz Diamond, and now this mystery club that texted you.
Let the conspiracy theories begin!

I had seen a craigslist ad for this one. Has anyone gone to look at any of these places?

The back-end of that text message regarding the audition location sounds a little like an "underground" thing?
"on the 2nd floor of Blarney Stones Restaurant"
And it's not the Legz Diamond location. LG location was W. 47th Street.
You'd know better if you knew the source of that text message but I think you're saying you don't know who sent the message.
The new mystery club at the former Legz Diamond location on W. 47th Street is having auditions this Thursday starting at 6:30pm. But it's not the reopening of a new Legz Diamond. What I heard about the new W. 47th Street club sounds a lot like the first-part of the above quoted text message.
"New, Exclusive, high-end gentlemens club in mid November"
I do know someone who may be able to get some answers on the new W. 47th Street club. I know the club is opening November 21st. If anyone has questions I can ask the guy I know who may be able to get some answers. He "knows somebody, who knows somebody"... accordingly he usually takes a day or two to get back to me. So the answers may come after Thursdays auditions.
p.s. I can start a post specifically announcing Thursdays auditions for the new club and let all the questions and answers be focused in that thread. I hesitate doing it because I feel it may be improper to do so. I don't want to sound like a "commercial", being that I do know someone who would like girls to come to the audition.
Let me know what's best.

I actually do know who the text came from. It's a guy named Urie- he is the owner. I believe he was using the first location (the one above the Blarney Stones restaurant) just as a temp location for Interiviews/Auditions, and the actual location is going to be at the old Legs Diamond.
I would love to know how it goes on Thursday for anyone that goes!
I would go but Im working at my club, where I am happy... so if I did go it would probably just be out of curiosity....
But I am interested to see how this plays out! 8)

This is consistent with what I've been told. So the mystery solved.
As far as Thursdays 6:30pm interview I know two girls that are showing up early at 6pm so they can get in and out and shoot off to work at Hustler.
Also the myspace blog post says they will forward contact info to the owner if anyone can't make the Thursday interview. And the same post has the clubs email addy for direct contact.
Re: NYC: Legz Diamond Redux
something doesn't 'smell' right about this. The former Legz location on 47th St had both adult business zoning problems and fire safety code problems.

The myspace blog says the new club owner has bought the five story building, does this effect or resolve any such "problems"?
I've also heard that this purchase was not accurate?

You're tellin' me! First off... the bizarre secrecy. They've been posting for MONTHS about this mysterious club.... refused to give out any more info than what was posted in the message soliciting photos and phone numbers from prospective dancers.
I mean.... I'm no chump... I'm familiar with clubs opening in NYC... in fact I applied to work at a couple of them before they were open. But those clubs took out full page ads in industry magazines and set up postings on the interwebs with a link to a website with info regarding where the club is, what phone number to call, when it will be opening, and how to apply, etc. I mean... they definitely listed the NAME of the club. Legitimate stuff, you know?
I see stuff that isn't so legitimate like this posting:
Quote:
If you want to be contacted about an interview or if you want to know more from the club, send an e-mail to:
[email protected]
You will need to include:
- a PHONE NUMBER you can be reached at.
- a FULL BODY picture or social networking link.
- and indicate any past club or related experience, if any.
So I go and google... and come across.... http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question...3192254AAUD8s4
Which is a posting on Yahoo from [email protected]
Quote:
"How Do I Learn The Strip Club Or Club Business ONLINE? I know online forums and websites exist serving the communities of:
(a) strip club fans
(b) strippers aka exotic dancers
and
(c) the business end of clubs and restaurants for owners and managers (non strip club).
These three things are all separate and independent of each other, They have no cross-over nor should they. Each has parts that as a whole would be what I need to find. But as they are, they do NOT address or share the issues and information I need to explore.
I am hoping an online community exists for managers and owners of strip clubs as I am considering joining this industry as a strip club manager. If hired, I will have gotten the job due to outstanding accomplishments not related to strip club managment. I have no "hands-on" experience as a strip club manager and may need to know a lot, quickly.
Any insight or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks!"
I dunno.... sounds even less official/legitimate now. But then again, there is Sapphire which by all accounts is up and running (yet has no webpage, not listed phone number, no press release, etc.).
 Why all the secrecy? Is it the new hip thing?

First question.
No... zoning doesn't have to do with buildings. It's more about where the building is located. There are areas in NYC where adult business are permitted and not permitted. Then there are the weird 60/40 rules. Then I am sure there are several more nuances.... but I am no expert.
Second question.
Purchase was not accurate? I don't know what you mean.

They are inviting the HOTTEST girls in NYC to come interview this Thursday, November 6th @ 6:30pm. This is now an interview just for dancers only. They do have a small bit-o-time set aside for service staff interviews but that is cut-off, no more interview openings for service staff at this time.
Two key points we've seen mention-of, is...
1 - No House Fees!
2 - Possibly the highest VIP earnings in Manhattan.

Re: NYC: Legz Diamond Redux
I think the mystery and limited info is related to the location of these ads, like craigslist or myspace. Anyone can see them and are sure to attract a lot of non dancers, trouble makers or girls from ratty clubs. Within this context it is understandable to not share the full story.
Within the usual hiring process it would not be understandable, but with it's unusual odd context it is understandable.
From the yahoo answers thing... it seems this is all from a rouge or an overly ambitious person trying to use alternate avenues that clearly are the wrong avenues.
Re: NYC: Legz Diamond Redux
Right or wrong, the yahoo answers posting sure shows the person to be a thoughtful individual looking to do things right. It may be all wrong but not for any ill intention.
Am I right or wrong on this?

Neither... it's just your opinion.
I don't get into people heads to read their true intentions.
I have my own thoughts on the matter.

The above is all wrong.
The point of the owner lacking any experience is true but is not accurate to the point you make. It does not relate as I will explain.
The rscnyc guy is a friend of mine. Misguided in using craigslist but not a bad guy, not a lawyer and in no way is he a Lou type. Not in any way shape or form. He is the opposite, he is respected for his integrity and concern for everyone.
Many girls know him and he is very well liked. He does not want to tell me a lot but it seems several people told the owner of this new club that he (the rscnyc guy) could find and attract some of the best girls dancing in Manhattan. He was only modestly capable of this but took it as an opportunity to impress the owner, hoping to be offered a job himself.
The owner is a young businessman (not a lawyer) new to the business of strip clubs but he has hired as his manager Alex from Scores. Alex just finished opening Scores Miami. They want to be an exclusive club with only a small group of the finest girls and the customers who only travel in the highest end of the scene. Alex running the show should help insure bringing in the best customers.
As long as we are on the subject of inaccuracies, the headline of this thread is also inaccurate. They have no connection to Legz Diamond. This club is NOT Legz Diamond Redux. It is the same building but they have gutted and redesigned the interior. The outside still has the Legz sign but will soon have no sign, only a mahogany exterior.
Re: NYC: NOT Legz Diamond Redux
FACTS vs. RUMOR:
The facts are that the "rscnyc dude" and the owner are not the same and not really connected. The false rumor added to this thread is so damaging that I think we should not continue with this thread unless it is from those who know first hand information.
I know the rscnyc guy is a good guy but I do not know the owner other then the few facts I've added above.
If anyone other then me knows the rscnyc guy (I do) or knows Uri the owner (some in this thread have said they do), can you help clarify a truer portrait of who they are.
Please no more rumor and speculation. First hand knowledge is best from here on out.

Well first off, as I do any time I know I don't have the absolute straight skinny I took pains to let everyone know right up front that it was second hand info and I couldn't vouch for it.
Secondly, while I've gotten fairly well known in certain circles I hardly think a post by little ol' me carries so much weight that it could damage a kitten, let alone this gentleman you reference, or this new "club", and Alex isn't apt to even notice anything I said - never mind be hurt by it. :)
So I'd have to suggest that your point, though it may be accurate in regard to its info on rsncy [who knows] it is a bit over dramatic in its presentation.
Quote:

Anyone in this business for any length of time knows that if you willfully try to create an information vacuum by withholding info people are seeking out, speculation is the result. These gents set the rules of the game in motion. Can't blame me for listening to what was available, or passing it along [again, marked for what it was worth upfront , natch] to try and help folks here.
Thanks for this alternative info. It is truly appreciated.
I'll keep my ears open and if I hear anything that either substantiates the above, or refutes it, I'll be sure to pass it along.
Wishing well...
Re: NYC: Legz Diamond Redux
Very well said Mr. Rule.
You surely are a man of respect.
It was just the "Lou" thing that is hard to accept being tossed around so easily. That is a comment that must be reserved for the worst of the worst and only if known for sure.
Re: NYC: Legz Diamond Redux
I have met and have observed the ways of Uri... I believe I know his objective, as a patron, and a new businessman. He is kind, generous, and reasonable.
But... I would never work for him simply because of what might become expected of me, which is not an awful thing, just not my thing.
Opening up a straight-up ligitimate strip club now a days is overdone, not in demand, and wouldn't be as lucrative... why not straddle the fence... hence, the secrecy.
We ALL know what makes the MOST money and it ain't something you can safely announce, nor do unless you're a well studied etrepreneur who learned very well from his predecessors.
I dunno, was this helpful?
