There is a dancer who does this to me ALL THE TIME. She forgets my stagename, and is like "Hey! (MY NAME)! Want to do a shot?"
Re: "Is that your real name?"
As a custi, I never even use the girls fake name. I just call her sweetie, or the first letter of her fake name. After several trips to the club, often times the lady will give me a real fake name, at which point I use that to be nice, or continue to use sweetie. Real names are for phone conversations and OTC stuff.
Re: "Is that your real name?"
^ Ugh, you again?!
What's the problem with a stage name? Do you KNOW where you are at all times?

how do you know it's "fake"?
it's -really- irritating when i tell a customer my real name and he goes "yeah right" or "no it isn't"
*rolls eyes*
Re: "Is that your real name?"
^ and what does it matter anyways?! I hate guys with this sense of entitlement. You are entitled to dances and attention for money, not access to our souls, orifices, and personal lives.
Re: "Is that your real name?"
No baby thats not my real name. You turn me on,I like you so dont tell anyone. My name is (insert fake name U tell anyone who asks)

This is why none of my coworkers know my real name either!;D

Clenching my teeth and smiling is all I can do to not respond like a smart-ass. All I want to yell is "What do YOU think? Do you think I would actually tell potential stalkers ANYTHING about my true identity?" or something sarcastic and bitchy.
How do you respond politely to this question? It's just so incredibly stupid, and the answer so obvious, that I have great trouble tolerating it. Grrr...
Thank you!
I hate that too, I mean REALLY hate it. What r they fuckin morons? They think because I have known them for all of 5 minutes that I will reveal my identity that has been secret for 10+yrs? IDIOTS! :biting:
Anyway, I just tell them Nakita is my real name. That works for me because I have been Nakita for 14 yrs so they think that I legally changed my name or something. Then they ask if I am from russia. MORONIC again! Nikita is russian, Nakita is native american or japanese depending on who you talk to. I can't tell you how many times I have answered this question.
I have to think positive about it though. At least they are calling me Nakita and not "hey you", "honey", "sweetie", "darlin" or any other condesending nickname!

^That has always been my policy. People i know still call me by my fake real name - i like it, it allows me to identify where i know them from and how much i want the m to know about my life.
But rather than give customers my fake real name (that is a last resort, because they can just hassle you ITC using your 'fake' name) i always went with a cute answer, and say stuff like 'Of COURSE Candy is my real name. Have you met my sisters Soda and Chips?' or 'No of course my real name isn't Crystal, YOU can call me Diamante' if you say it with a wink the custie usually laughs it off and buys another dance.

That's a super cute way to deal with it. I danced with a Candy, and she was worried about being asked about her "real name and I was like "Dude. Just say it's short for Candace.". ;D
With my coworkers I dont use a Fake Real Name, because I always claim my stage name IS my real name. And you're right, it does give you an opportunity to gauge how much you want them to know about your life. In my six years dancing, I have made 3 dancer friends OTC. I don't need any drama in my life.
