My mothers 50th b-day is in two weeks, any ideas? Hot air balloon ride?
I was thinking of taking her on a hot air balloon ride. She lives in las vegas and I am going down there to see her in two weeks. It was originally planned that she come up to Sacramento where I'm from, drive to lake tahoe, and do the balloon ride there (much prettier view). But she would rather me go down there because she's disabled and does not like traveling. I'm a little concerned about the view. I mean, las vegas isn't very scenic.
Has anyone ever done a hot air balloon ride? What was you experience and did you like it? Would you recommend it?
Also, any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. I would like to DO something with her rather than get her a gift. I want it to be an experience she'll remember and something she'd not normally do. Also, my budget is around $500 (including the both of us).
Thanks a bunch!

Yes, do the hot air balloon ride! I have done different ones over the years and they are great! Don't forget to take a camera so that you can take pictures. Get one of the pictures blown up for her for Christmas!!

That would be a wonderful, memorable birthday really, for both of you.
If you decide to give her a gift, a new hockey stick always put a smile on my face! ;)

You could take a helicopter ride over the strip at night, but it's only a 15 minute ride. They do have helicopter trips to the Grand Canyon which might be memorable.

^^^ Yeah, I thought about that, but I don't know how fun it would be to be in one of those loud things.
lol @ a new hockey stick.

You wear headphones with music playing co-ordinated to the flight, over which the pilot narrates. Rotor noise isnt much of an issue.
