By chance does anyone know of a simple way to upload pics and make them animated?
...take a series of pics and combine them to make an a-gif and "upload" as usual. You cant just take one pic and make it move.

OK maybe I wasn't stating my issue correctly. I'm looking to loop jpegs to make animated gif. Will those programs help me do that?
Thank you WiseGuy_TX!
Perhaps I should look up a tutorial and do it on Photoshop CS2, I was hoping to find an easier way to do it, like maybe a site that would let me upload pics and it would make the gif for me.
...yes, unfreez will make loops but you will need to convert your jpegs to gifs first, since it only uses non-animated gifs to make animated gifs. Irfan will convert jpegs to gif.

Unfreez is simple, gimp is a little more complicated but will make a-gifs too.

All freeware.
..oK, here's one online.

Cool, I'm going to try converting the jpegs on irfanview.
My headache is starting to diminish thanks to you!!!!
I successfully converted files to .gif format and then transferred to UnFREEz 2.1, prompted it to make animated .gif, told it where to save it, and there's nothing there. Might you know anything about my holdup?
theres a program called video avatar that you just drag and drop pics into it and it'll make it for you

i use it to make gifs out of movies like so

...did you give it a file name to save to? Search for the filename in case it stored it in some other folder.
I just used it and it works for me.
EDIT: out of curiosity how big are each gif file? Hopefully they are, lets say, less than 50k each. and not bigger than 500k each.
OK I found it, but when I click on it, it only shows first shot. Do you know why it wouldn't be looping all of them together? I'm so confused!
..yea, i guessing each gif size is too big to effectively be used. Open irfan>Image>resize/resample> play around with the settings to reduce size. I like to use the "percent" setting and set it to 10% that usually gets it down to 50k or less. You can shrink it several times if needed. Dont forget to save file (as gif) so it remains that small size.
OK I opened it up with Photoshop and it shows me every layer. How do I get the layers to loop?
...they probably are looping but since each file is huge it takes forever to loop them. Either that or the a-gif spec cant loop files that big. Not sure which one.
Whether each gif file is 2.6mb or the a-gif itself is 2.6mb, either way i recommend reducing the individual file size or use less number of gifs to make the a-gif. A reasonably functioning a-gif probably should be in the 100-500k range to loop well without looping slow or not at all, imo.
If you have photoshop all you have to do is stack the pics on top of each other then click on the image ready
FILE>>>JUMPTO>>>>IMAGEREADY
and then loop them from there
this program right here ulead gif animator is used for pics, my bad on the other one that is used for video files

Wow this is confusing, I have all layers selected in palette and the link button is not opening up ! I want to pull my hair out!
...it takes like 2 secs with unfreez and small gifs. Good luck!
YAY You're my hero today!!!!
It took 2 secs with unfreez & small gifs!!!!
Now I can play around since I finally get it now!!!!
Thanks a million!
