UK Clubs fighting for licenses
UK clubs are fighting to keep license rules as they are because if new rules go in affect it will be much easier to shutdown. Links below shows articles and video of the story. Basically those who hate the industry want it licensed as a "SEXUAL ENCOUNTER CLUB". That will make people who come to the clubs start looking for sex since it basically will be licensed as a place of prostitution.

Re: UK Clubs fighting for licenses
There was a parliamentary hearing yesterday - see the story below for a video of Peter Stringfellow speaking at the hearing. I agree with him - i wouldn't want anyone walking into a club where i work thinking that they are going to get a sexual encounter. Whilst many may currently think that they are mistaken and this ruling would effectively prove them right and change the nature of lapdancing clubs

It would be ridiculous if they passed this - basically a green light to turn clubs into brothels and the end of lapdancing as we know it. I know that sounds melodramatic but it is the start of a slippery slope if they give in to the hysterics and pass this motion. There Guardian website is currently frantic with debate over the matter and someone made an excellent point about where does that leave burlesque performances or is that ok because that's tit ogling for the middle classes under the guise of being 'ironic'?...
