Re: UN meets to plan 'global warming tax' ... a few scientists dissent
Shift people and jobs to less polluting industries and use less polluting heating and transport systems. Sounds easy, but shifting people into anything different is incredibly hard and disruptive. You might as well try to stop floods. :(
Mel, long term is the period when the earth floods and climate become much less liveable. I guess China and Saudi Arabia will still be doing their thing.
You know, it isn't money that makes the world go around, it's angular momentum or some other thing that depends on PHYSICS. Just remember the Tsunami 2 years ago and how powerless humans were to do anything to save themselves. All the money anyone ever conceived of will not stop this unless we put some of that money to use in saving ourselves.
Where the Hell is that KLAATU ? They said he'd be here last week.

 wrong.
Due to the FACT that the U.S produces about 25% of all co2 emissions and yet has ONLY 4% of the world's population, your assertion is simply not true. China for all it's land size, massive population and environmental problems STILL only produces about 1/4 per capita of what is produced by the U.S, per capita.
