I will most likely be there. I haven't gotten my ticket yet because I was waiting to make sure that it would work out in my schedule. I am pretty sure now though. I would really like to meet you in person! I have been meaning to really get a hold of you because I have some great clubs that are hiring dancers and I want to talk to you about them!
I'm a local girl, but I'd be up for a meet-up.
...I really hope there won't be tons of you. I mean, I hope you make money, but there have been conventions that have passed already this year and it truly isn't what it used to be. :(
I get in on the 5th. I'm at the conventions during the day, but if anyone's going we could do meet up for lunch or dinner. Mediocrity, will you be at the conventions?
Nakita, I was wondering what happened to you!!! Give me a call or e-mail me. I didn't see that questioner come back from you.
Which convention is it ?
it's really gonna suck big time this year... no point in traveling to work there.
I'm going with a friend who's been liking working there all fall on weekends. I'll be there from the 29th-jan 12. She hasn't worked Dec. I never expect much during the holidays, bec/ obviously ppl are spending money on gifts. We'll expect to have fun and make some money, but I don't expect any miracles. I've worked there before for mos. at a time and know how it varies, and it depends on many different aspects, from your hussle to the amount of girls and how busy it is/quality of guys, time of year/if there are conventions, who you meet, your mood, the club you work at, how drunk you get, how good you look, how slutty you look and dance, how many hookers are in the club, etc.
My best friend and I were thinking about going, but have been getting mixed opinions about Vegas and the $$$, so we are unsure. She has worked there before during slow months and banked about 10,000 in just a few months so I guess it varies. I wouldn't know because I have never danced there.
I will agree that it won't be like years in the past! As far as AEE- there won't be that many companies going because the state of the industry isn't good. The companies are putting themselves out of biz by trying to out-do each other so they don't have the cash to do AEE.
But, CES should still be good! Everyone flocks to Vegas to work these conventions. I would set a goal of $1,000/shift. Usually it's easy to make that in Vegas, but it hasn't been the same there lately so I think that is a good goal.
$1,000 a shift? Dude. I have been here since April and that is NOT what we are consistently making. All of the girls I talk to before work while we get ready, we set our goals at $500.
If I made $1,000 a night, even on an 8hr shift, consistently, I would be SHOCKED. Especially since we are going to get flooded with girls.
The only place I would say you can do that is Rhino. Which so long as the majority go there instead of my club, I will be a happy camper.
Sorry but I have to question if you have ever worked CES recently. That's not an accurate prediction at all.
CES was one of my worst weeks EVER last January. You're right EVERYONE does flock for this convention so there 10 times as many girls and even less customers. Especially this year. Discount rooms are still available for CES, that's unheard of.
A lot of CES participants come from Silicon Valley. I grew up there and danced there for years. The people I still know back there say Silicon Valley is dead. No one is going to CES, the companies can't afford to send them.
1K a night? For a dancer that just comes in to work the convention and does not have established social capital? LMAO!!!
QFT!!
As for the SR, they may come but I'm actually glad it's so hard to get hired. It protects us from the girls that flock in. All the girls that are already hired DO work though, so it's still packed with girls just hardly any new ones get hired during big conventions. Especially this year.
Ok.. if you're average looking and average hustle girl, don't bother. If you're top earner in your home club, ABOVE AVERAGE looking, great hustler that will not take "maybe later" for an answer, you will do well in Vegas.. it's that simple.
I will be at AEE (www.adultentertainmentexpo.com) and Internext (www.internext-expo.com) from Jan 7th through the 14th.
If any of you are going to attend AEE please stop by my booth ( AdultBizLaw.com #6059) and say hi.
And if you're not working Friday Jan 9th, I am throwing a party at the Erotic Heritage Museum on Industrial next to Deja Vu. 10pm to 2am. We have a rock band, a rapper, and the Punany Poets performing. And we will be opening a gallery for pornstar Ginger Lynn.

I have to also say that I think AEE is a total waste of time as a stripper...I mean think about it, people in the adult industry are used to real live fucking and being in a strip club to them is probably the equivalent of us going to Hooters....not that exciting.
I think the convention thing is sort of a myth anyway, I danced in Vegas for three years and actually saw my best money in MAGIC, believe it or not (like as in best of conventions) or maybe in March, but like...CES really isn't that big of a thing, in my opinion.
CES brings in a lot of Japanese men, Chinese Men and Indian men. And all three of these groups are not the american kind. They come from oversees and do not spend a whole lot of money. Most of them come in big groups and don't speak english and usually just wave at you to go away. I haven't done well for that convention since before 911 happened.
And for the Porno convention, I think VegasPrincess pretty much summed that up.
Do not expect a big profit from either of these conventions, unless you can speak Japanese or Chinese.
Some girls will do well like any other night, but majority will just be average if not below average earnings, due to the overhaul of girls coming in to work.
I personally do better when there isn't any conventions. Tourists are just way better spenders IMO.
Thought anyone considering a trip to Vegas might want to read this:
Record numbers of strippers seen
The worst economic crisis in decades has record numbers of strippers showing up in Las Vegas.
"We've had as many as 400 working at one time," said Shai Cohen, director of marketing for Sapphire, which is billed as the world's largest gentlemen's club.
An even larger turnout is likely next month when 140,000 convention attendees show up for the annual porn trade show and the Consumer Electronic Show.
"We have seen a lot of new faces," said Cohen. Before the economy started diving last summer, 250 to 300 girls would arrive at the 70,000-square-foot club.
"Girls who were in our system from long time ago are returning," he said. The majority of newcomers are driving in from Southern California, he said, with two and three sharing a motel room to cut expenses.
Tipping is down, he added, and more patrons are using credit cards instead of cash.
Cohen has heard scuttlebutt that a number of local strip clubs are struggling, but Sapphire's business has remained robust, he said.
"We have 10 sky boxes that go for $500 an hour and they're being used. We hear people talking about the economy all day, but we haven't noticed a big difference.
"Las Vegas has been an escape that's been around forever. People need to be entertained."

That is why it is a GOAL, not a minimum.
No, I have never worked CES as a dancer. I just go every year to attend AEE...since 1998. Although, I have several friends that have retired from feature dancing because they could make 1 one night dancing in Vegas what they would make in a week on the road.
If you both would look at my post hard, I was agreeing with you in the manner of Vegas is hard right now.
nice find!
EXACTLY. I can't tell you how infuriating it was last year to have the tip rail FULL of these cheap bastards. They won't tip AT ALL, and some will even proceed to sit there and look at you like you're stupid when you pull your thong out and happily suggest they start opening their fucking wallets. I hate those bastards.
Fooey! Had to clear my travel schedule because of all the girls coming to work Super Bowl. DAMN PROCRASTINATORS!!!
Have a blast without me!
P.S. Just talked to one of my Traveling Entertainers who worked New Years in Vegas and said she banked! I am so proud of her! Hope you guys who haven't been making much in Vegas did well too!
I'm just catching up on things. First, if anyone is thinking about going to Vegas to work the clubs during AEE, I would say - don't. One of the previous posters is correct, the dancers complain that they don't make as much money during AEE because everyone wants to see the video actresses and not just dancers. My intention with this post was not to see who was working the clubs during AEE, but rather to know who would be out in Vegas for both AEE & CES.
With that being said, there is plenty of other work available through both conventions. I have worked Vegas conventions as talent before - simply eye candy for the booth. It pays, and going to the conventions is a great networking tool. It's getting a little late at this point to be telling people this, but in the future if you want to go to Vegas during the conventions to network start looking for work around early November. There is plenty of paid work for models/dancers/talent that can be found through agents, craigslist, and sites like model mayhem.
