I'm gonna be a career stripper!
Wohoo..I'm so happy right now, I've been very worried about the future for a long time now...not knowing what I want to study or when to stop dancing etc...I used to study law but it wasn't for me..
I've always considered dancing as something Id just do for a couple of months until I figure out what I really want to do and because of that I've never saved any of my money...but I've been dancing for 2 years now and I don't want to stop..so now I've started to save 50% of my earnings and when I'm 35 Im gonna quit dancing and start my own business with the money I've saved....
sorry if this was a really uninteresting post but I'm just so happy that I've finally made up my mind as to what to do with my life!!

Good for you to know to save... biggest mistake many of us make and it's what screws us over in the end.
Re: I'm gonna be a career stripper!
Good for you ! I'm one of those dancers whose stripped and then went into business for herself. Guess what though ?? I'm still dancing ! I haven't wanted to give it up.
I enjoy the club and the money I make. So hats off to career strippers, make it work for you !

Re: I'm gonna be a career stripper!
I'm very happy for you...and glad to hear that you have decided at 21. My only regret with dancing is that I didn't start earlier. I started when I was 24 and I am almost 27. Go for it! :)

It's all good but you have to consider the long term future. Stripping really takes a toll on your body with the drinking, late nights and it's not a consistent income. It can also put a strain on romantic relationships.
Perhaps another major while you're dancing something to fall back on and also something to show on your resume if you want to try other employment opportunities. ;)

well, miss negativity, although i agree with the sentiment of having smthg else to fall back on, i don't agree with the rest of the points. i've been shaking my ass for 10 years now, and my body feels just fine and i've been consistently making more and more the longer i do this. and i disagree about the relationships as well, lots of strippers (me included) are either happily married or otherwise in ltrs. i think it depends on the attitude about your job you bring to the relationship. and drinking heavily is not a job requirement either, last time i checked.
anyway, op, i have also semi recently came to peace with the fact that i'm a lifer. i figure i have another 10-15 years left in me until i retire to my passive income, so more power to you

lol. it gets a lot of high fives xD i got the most amazing customer that was into punk music and he was actually funny. he took me to VIP just to give me a non creepy foot massage that was honestly thebest foot/leg massage I've ever gotten. Some other gut that same night tipped me a hundred on stage. Guy have been feeling really generous lately. Tis the season!
I know it wont always be like this though.. but im a very lucky person. I take big risks.. The best part about it is the staff at my club. I love my DJs, the bartender, most of the girls, the door girl, the regulars, and of course the bouncer (teehee).
are any of you gals gonna work on christmas?
I'm working today, but taking time off during christmas and new years eve.. :D I hope you stay this positive during your career...cause that's waht gets you the money.. ;)

I will agree to an extent. I have been dancing for 14 years. It actually is the best thing for my body because I am conditioned more than most my age and my body needs the activity to stay in shape. However, after 30 things do change and you notice the wear and tear that has happened from repetitive movement, wearing heels, and some may even have back problems from carrying extra implant weight or extreme pole tricks. Just like any athlete, there is body wear that you will notice!
AND...who the hell said drinking would ever be a requirement! I NEVER drink when I work! Do a search about drinking at work and you will find a poll that I started. You will find that most girls do not drink much @ work!

I honestly think that it may be too soon for you to start thinking career stripper. I felt the same way as you within weeks of dancing, but you never know!

Thats a good point thats why its important to sit down and actually think how you're going to make sure that being a stripper doesn't fuck up your body. For example: i always take my shoes off when doing dances and the CR - i found that helps tremendously with back and foot pain. before i figured that out i used to have to go to a chiropractor every couple of weeks to get my back cracked, but now- i feel great. the other thing is try to minimize time on your feet. i know its not gonna fly for the stage oriented dancers, but i make my money off the dances and rooms, so i tip the dj to not put me up at all. i find it very economical for both my money and my back;D

I have to agree with her, you need something to fall back on in case life throws a curve ball at ya (pregnancy, car accident, etc.) You say you want to open your own business? Then take some business classes. Keep you brain well educated. Have fun and enjoy being a dancer but also plan for your future now while you have your days free, good luck hun
