quote of the year nominees ...
(snip)" I will leave you with an amazing quote from someone who I feel perfectly captures the Democratic Party's agenda- California Senator Diane Feinstein, speaking on the bailout vote:
'Mr. President I have received 91,000 phone calls and e-mails from California; 85,000 of them opposed to this measure... I think if we really do care about the livelihood of our constituents, there is only one vote- and it is yes.'
Unbelieveable.(snip)

WOW! Such passion behind this.
Re: quote of the year nominees ...
and another contender for the title ...
Co-anchor Chris Matthews: “I have to tell you, you know, it’s part of reporting this case, this election, the feeling most people get when they hear Barack Obama’s speech. My — I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don’t have that too often."
Co-anchor Keith Olbermann: “Steady.”

"I've abandoned free market principles to save the free market system." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Dec. 16, 2008
Re: quote of the year nominees ...
^^^ actually, Bush has done some better ones !
"Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter." –President George W. Bush, in parting words to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and French President Nicolas Sarkozy at his final G-8 Summit, punching the air and grinning widely as the two leaders looked on in shock, Rusutsu, Japan, July 10, 2008
and my personal favorite ...
"I'll be long gone before some smart person ever figures out what happened inside this Oval Office." —President George W. Bush, in an interview with the Jerusalem Post, Washington, D.C., May 12, 2008
Re: quote of the year nominees ...
and here's a potential finalist ...
With capitalist Washington forced to buy shares of major banks to stop them going bust after years of loose regulation, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who grew up in Communist East Germany, was quoted in Focus magazine telling her Cabinet the following joke: "What's the difference between Communism and Capitalism? Answer: The Communists nationalised all the companies first -- and then ruined them."

All you need to know about "Kaleefornyar" is embodied by who gets voted in.
Diane Feinstein ? Aside from being mentally challenged, somebody name one thing this nit-wit has actually accomplished ?
Barbara "Chihuahua" Boxer ? Both a mental and physical midget.
Henry Waxman ? Rather than deal with our real problems, chose to hold hearings on steroids in baseball and other irrelevancies.
Nancy "Stretch" Pelosi ? Seems to be going out of her way to be as ineffective as possible as House Speaker.
Gavin Newsome ? He had a tough act to follow in Willie Brown but has managed to let San Fran sink even deeper into the abyss.
Btw, the Dems do not have a monopoly on political imbecility.
"B-1" Bob Dornan. I know he got defeated but as a "Hall of Famer" for stupidity and factual delinquency, I thought he deserved a mention.
Duncan Hunter ? A worthy successor to Dornan as a right-wing rep for California fruits and nuts.
"Duke" Cunningham. At least he's residing in appropriate quarters.
Ahhhnold ? Champion political cross-dresser. Does anyone seriously think the Kennedys would tolerate him unless he was a closet liberal ?
Jerry Brown ? When a spaced out guy like Brown looks rational and responsible compared to most of his political contemporaries, then California is hopeless. To his credit, he did a fairly decent job as Oakland's Mayor and has done an OK job as California Attorney General.
And of course, I can't forget my personal favorite. Dumb as the day is long ( despite her seniority, her colleagues won't let her chair anything ) , ignorant ( does she even have a high school diploma ? ), vicious , rude ( not a graceful bone in her body ), personally corrupt ( has used either the Bloods or Crips- I forget which- to intimidate opponents and critics and every time she's investigated screams "RACISM " !) and my nominee for the California Political Hall of Fame, MAXINE WATERS !!!!!

I try to explain why Obama isn't the one to really be worried about! This is the best explaination yet.
