Gahhh I get realy motivated when listening to metal. Like heavy. Or super fast rock.
My faves : Korn, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Mushroomhead and Kittie.
They just keep me going.
^ I should try switching over to super fast rock to see if it makes me lose more weight!
if you're into dance stuff, try little boots, basement jaxx, lcd soundsystem, simian mobile disco, justice, hercules & love affair, daft punk etc. or have a look around the techno thread for ideas
and sometimes old girly anthems work for me too. like gwen stefani, hole, j lo, trina, britney spears "toxic" ... i'm not a fan of hers but that is a great fucking song
You should definitely check out this workout music site:
http://www.inthegym.net/
They have a workout song of the day, plenty of playlists (all songs link to iTunes), and link to some decent music blogs that provide good recos.
Also, one of my friends asked me to put a workout list together for her, so here's what I compiled:
- Je Veux te Voir - Yelle
- It's your duty - Lene Nystrom
- Mannequin - Britney Spears
- Trash Me - Jessie Malakouti
- Electropop - Jupiter Rising (Lene B Mix)
- Bojangles (remix) - Pitbull ft Lil Jon & Ying Yang Twinz
- Stupid S*** - Girlicious
- That's not my name - The Ting Tings
- Ricochet - Shiny Toy Guns
- Wake Me Up - Girls Aloud
- Let there be light - Justice
- Hit me up - Gia Farrell
- Something Kinda Ooooh - Girls Aloud (Both the original and Flip & Fill mix versions are great)
- Victims Among Friends - God Module
- More and More - Hixxy make sure it's the DJ Trick Remix (A cheesy song but has high bpm)
- Bombs over Bagdad - Outkast
- 1000 homo DJs - Ministry
- List of demands - Saul Williams
- Bad Girl -Danity Kane
- Inside Outside - Miss Eighty 6
- Alive - Mondotek
- Party People - Nelly ft Fergie
- 4ever - Real Booty Babes (Cascada radio mix)
- Never give up - Rhythm Republic vs Peyton
- Knights of Cydonia - Muse
- Hot hot riot - ultraviolet
- Cobrastyle - Teddybears ft Mad Cobra
- Throw it on me - Timbaland ft the hives
- Gimme my electro - Ultraviolet
- Splitloop - KFC ft Bukue One (Future Funk Squad Mix)
- Get'cha head in the game - Troy (ok I know this is a high school musical song, I cringe myself, but it is a good workout song) Please hold the laughter... hehe
- Timebomb - Beck
- Swinging London Town - Girls Aloud
- Sounds of the Underground - Girls Aloud
- My Everything - Collie Buddz
- Mars Attack - Girls Aloud
This is really general, but I love the ThriveMix dance cds. They have a lot of great artists on them, and are usually pretty upbeat.

awesomeness - thanks guys this helped alot x
I don't know if anyone else will like this, but I got a code from the new Shape magazine for a free download of a 40-min song set from this site called dontquitmusic.com ... I went ahead and downloaded it, not knowing what it was, just because the other sets are all worth about $10. It was pretty cool ... it's mostly high tempo rock/trance/techno sounding background music and every once in a while a male trainer comes in the "encourages" you or gives you an inspiring quote to keep you going. It sounds pretty cheesy but it REALLy motivated me to get through an hour of cardio and did a better job than the music playlist I had been using. :)
Hi,
Lexi: thabks for the site dontquitmusic.com. what's the name of the playlist you downloaded ?
This treand inspire me to look for more playlist, I like these sites:

and I would like to read "The Stripper Top 10 Songs for 2008" ! (Maybe 25kristin or any of you professional dancers may write this ?
ciao
Beyonce has lots of good workout songs too!
Ring the alarm, kitty kat, crazy in love, freakum dress, naughty girl, upgrade you, check up on it, and single ladies. Those are high energy, they make me want to move! Hope this helps you :)
For me, NOTHING beats Combichrist - Get Your Body Beat to get me moving. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, how tired I am, where I am, who I'm with. That song starts, and I'm bouncing off the walls...
I think I can make that a slightly more general statement - Combichrist is fucking awesome, and they need to get their asses back from europe and tour some more.
This is a little embarrassing but I totally get pumped when listening to "Make a Man Out of You" from Disney's Mulan...
That's not all I listen to, but it's definitely my most memorable
I've been listening to these lately when running. They're not really music I regularly listen to, but when running, they really help me stay motivated.

-Jai Ho (Slumdog Millionaire Soundtrack)
