preventing sprained ankles
I've currently got a sprained ankle. I'm not exactly sure how it started. I sadly suspect it was from yoga. Basically it just started hurting a little around my ankle, then it started to swell, then it got more swollen and the pain went up my leg a bit, probably due to all the swelling.
The thing is, I had a sprained ankle 3 weeks ago too.
Clearly, I am doing something wrong if I'm on my second sprained ankle this month. I've never sprained anything before, so this is really weird.
Help? The swelling will hopefully be gone tomorrow or the next day. I just don't want this to happen again.

A sprained ankle cant fully heal in 3 weeks. I was told 6 weeks no heels minimum for a weak heal for my sprain.

aw fuck. i was afraid it was only feeling better without actually being better. i'm so screwed.
Re: preventing sprained ankles
After it heals, alternate standing on one leg, for increasing intervals of time, and then start doing it on incline or decline surfaces (if available), and that will help build up your ankles so you sprain them less often.
Re: preventing sprained ankles
You can also do ankle warm up exercises before anything you think might lead to twisting your ankle and spraining it. A great warm up is to imagine that you are writing the alphabet out using your feet. The twists and turns help warm up the ankles a lot so it reduces the chance of injury.

You might also want to consider weight training for the ankle and in general after it heals because that will help you handle the loads on your body so the likelihood of injury is less.
