Everything happens for a reason?
I have been away from SW for a bit , the reason other than busy xmas a so called friend of mine stole my old laptop!, I have known this girl for 2years and the other day after comin to my house when I was ill she stole my laptop, then tried to scare me and warn me that my new neighbours might be evil and to eatch out, anyway she was the only person who came to my house and hasnt spoke to me since, anyway i always had a funny vibe off this girl and now I know why , I also went to see a physic who told me that this needed to happen cos I needed to get away from her, which makes me think does everything happen for a reason?
Re: Everything happens for a reason?
You know at this point I don't know. I always had a feeling that I would wind up with my current bf even if we were broken up for 2 years and we're back together.
Re: Everything happens for a reason?
I still believe everything happens for a reason. I don't think its necessarily because that's what you want to happen or think will happen, but it does happen for a reason. I'm not very good at predicting what will happen, but I think that there are factors and causes for everything. Even if you can't see it, there is still a cause.
Re: Everything happens for a reason?
I think so, do you ever get a period of time say 6 mnths or so when alot of changes occur? alot of stuff has changed for me lately and I feel some sort of progress from each one

That is exactly what seems to happen to me...and it seemed to always be in the autumn when most of my changes would occur...now its just kinda whenever...buy yes.
I have found that when i find myself in this cycle to really re-examine (sp?) my goals and what i really want and need, and use that as a map to redirect myself if need be...
Glad to hear that you are seeing progress from these changes.
Stay motivated and positive!
Re: Everything happens for a reason?
i do believe that everything happens for a reason, and though at times it may be hard to see that reason, once ya get a little further down the road, even things that may have affected one negatively or unwanted or difficult changes are often blessings in disquise...
Re: Everything happens for a reason?
Everything, and everyone teaches you.
Re: Everything happens for a reason?
Everything happens for a reason, but those reasons are as random as the events. I don't/ can't believe in fate, as that is just too depressing to feel that out of control of my life.
Re: Everything happens for a reason?
Did you ever hear the George Carlin explanation of how all of humanity's existence may be the result of the earth's decision to find a way to create styrofoam? Everything may happen for a reason, and the reason may place no value what so ever on anybody.
Existential philosophies run the gamut of possibilities, and there's really no way to prove one's validity over another.
Re: Everything happens for a reason?
this sounds like The Matrix... that evil agent Smith.... ughhhhh.....
I think it was programmed to happen... you cannot change fate Mr Anderson.
haha... sometimes you just need to trust your own intuition over other peoples' advice.

Cause and effect. She stole from you; you should probably get away from her.
Re: Everything happens for a reason?
I think everything happens for a reason, but in some ways I think everything happens as a result of something that happened before it. Like with your laptop situation, you say you "always had a funny vibe off this girl"... I don't think her stealing your laptop is a reason for you to get her out of your life. I think you "had a funny vibe off of her" and that was the reason to avoid her, but since you didn't, she wound up screwing you over, if that makes sense.

exactly! makes a lot of sense...
i have found myself before in a shitty situation and if i am really honest with myself and 'backtrack' through the chain of events, i can find that one little instant where i DIDNT go with my gut or be HONEST with myself and realize that's why i ended up in a jam.
1.)LISTEN TO YOUR GUT
2.)BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF
3.)LEARN YOUR LESSON WHEN YOU FAIL TO DO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH NUMBERS 1 AND 2.
life is like one of those stories that can have multiple plots and endings...ex read paragraph A and then pick to read next paragraph B or C, then pick ending D or E...you get my drift.... ;-)
