Hi everyone! noob here :)
so i have been browsing the forum for a few days and decided to finally join, lots of nice people and good advice around here. I am currently unemployed but seriously considering dancing my way through college and grad school, hopefully save up a bit and have enough time for studying (with the amount of schoolwork i have, working full time for minimum wage is not going to fly) i'll probably start waitressing in a strip club this summer to learn the ropes and figure out how to not fall on my face with those heels! anyways, just popping in to say hi :) any advice would be appreciated.

Hey, welcome to the site!
Re: Hi everyone! noob here :)
thanks ladies! ^^ nice user name btw
Re: Hi everyone! noob here :)
thats how i started out. i waitressed for a few months and realized that dancing is where the money is at. i hated how a lot of the waitresses would look down upon the dancers at the club i worked at so i found another place and started dancing there. now im making great money and very happy.
Re: Hi everyone! noob here :)
^^^ glad it worked out for you :) thanks for the encouraging post!
i have a few more questions (decided to go through with this... i cant wait to start dancing and pulling in the $$$) without going into the details here is my situation: not comfortable stripping while living at my dad's house (dont want him to know) i'm hoping to move out w/in 6 months to a year with money from waitressing. however i am unsure whether i should tell my future employer that i plan on transitioning to dancing (seems like the more honest thing to do, but i dont want it to cost me a job) and, eeeek, i have no experience waitressing whatsoever. is this a big deal? (i could lie about it, but i'd rather not) i'm probably stressing for nothing, but i get nervous in job interview situations so i'm trying to get my act together beforehand! Also, if any of you have recs for NY clubs feel free to share, i cant afford to go to strip clubs atm and the only useful info on the websites are the adresses.

welcome to stripperweb!
Telling your future manager that you plan to become a dancer eventually will not cost you a job--he or she will probably assume you wanna dance eventually anyway. It's extremely common for girls to waitress at a SC for a while before taking the plunge to dancing. So common, in fact, that there's an old joke:
What's the difference between a strip club waitress and a stripper? Two weeks. ;D
Re: Hi everyone! noob here :)
Even if you don't express any interest in changing job classifications, if you are an attractive girl, are naturally coercive, or we see potential, we will make an attempt to transition you from one position to another. Some are more gentle than others, but if you let your manager know up front that your plan is to become a dancer, more than likely they will not only hire you, but also not try to push you before you are ready. Welcome to the adult industry, but please don't assume that it is easy money, and remember to be safe! :)

Re: Hi everyone! noob here :)
thanks again- you girls are awesome :D :D :D
i understand the money is not easy... i dont expect to get something for nothing. i am hoping to be financially rewarded for busting my ass, unlike most of my other jobs where i was payed minimum wage or below and therefore remained dependent on my parents or soon to be ex husband. and thank you for reminding me to be safe... so important for noobs like me who dont know the industry! however i do know what people are capable of, so i will be watching my back.
Re: Hi everyone! noob here :)
Welcome! Make sure you use advanced searches (don't just try to search for something without running under 'advanced search'--otherwise it's useless) to come up with any information you're looking for. This site has soo much great stuff about so many topics: we talk about everything!! Keep us updated!
Re: Hi everyone! noob here :)
Welcome to SW!!! Hope you find anything and everything you have ever wanted to know about stripping. Like Charlie says do advanced searches for something just in case its already on here. When i started out, i didnt do that, and that was my bad.
^^
BTW, get used to your heels, walk around, bend, squat do whatever you need to do until you feel good in them. If anything start out with smaller heels and work your way up. Make sure you call the club to see if they have a height minimum on the heels.
If you have a pole at home practice on that with your heels. You will get used to them, which will give you confidence. Confidence is really your best friend when you are dancing :D
Re: Hi everyone! noob here :)
yeah, i really need to get used to wearing them!! last time i wore anything near 4 inches, i was wobbling all over the place and leaning on walls/ random people for balance, not a good look, lol. i'll probably buy a pair of stripper shoes with chunky heels and wear them around the house untill i get the hang of it.
i'll keep you all updated, i'm starting the job search soon but not actually waitressing until august, probably not stripping untill nov/december of next year (if all goes according to plan) so it might be a while.
love this site!
Re: Hi everyone! noob here :)
Good for you. You can take it slow if that is your plan, and remember to stick to it. Don't be talked into something before you are ready. Because that wouldn't be good either.
Yes, I would highly recommend breaking in your heels. Wear them around your place when your doing everyday things, like cleaning, doing the laundry, cooking etc....so you can get the hang of them. You don't want to be falling down on the job over a wobbly heel, not only could you get hurt, but you could hurt a customer, or lose a lot of potential money made. Just be careful if your a lil wobbly at first. Be by something that you can catch yourself on just in case you do fall. Remember, practice makes perfect :P
Re: Hi everyone! noob here :)
Hi, just as a counter-point to your concerns.. you do realize that you're going to make a lot more money stripping (if you do your job well) then waitressing? You could. therefore, move out even more quickly. There are ways to get by without your dad knowing what you are doing. I am not telling you to be dishonest, and you have to do what is right for YOU, but, consider the options carefully. I wish you the very best of luck no matter what you decide.
