post baby pumping question ????
ok so i had my 2nd little girl monday , and one of my biggest fears during my pregnancy was that ( shallow i know ) another baby and breastfeeding would ruin my boobs more than my first daughter did , leaving me unable to dance .
well im sure my boobs will be quite unappealing after the amount of engorgement i have on already slightly saggy breasts so my question is this .... my baby is unable to breastfeed but my boobs look FANTASTIC , almost like they had work , should i keep pumping to keep up the volume until i can afford the BA i have been planning to get ( it will take me 6 months to save the money ) i plan oon going back to work by May .... anybody else ever have this dilema , suggestions please...thx
Re: post baby pumping question ????
If you want a BA in 6 months they need to drain of milk now. Most surgeons won't do any breast surgeries till they've been dried up 4-6 months.
So if you're not going to breastfeed and really want a boob job in 6 months- don't pump them. They need to dry up and can take a few weeks to dry (or months everyone is different).
Good luck :goodvibes:
*and Congrats on your baby girl!
Re: post baby pumping question ????
thanks for the congrats!!!!!! ok so what if i hold off the BA ( i would be using my-now huge breasts to afford it ) is the pumping idea gonna work???
Re: post baby pumping question ????
lol well will you be dancing? Just keep in mind that dancing while lactating can be a pain in the butt- dont want to leak on a custie lol. I've danced while nursing, and I would get engorged at work- so I would just go into the rest room and hand express some to relieve some of the pressure- leaking wasn't a problem as long as I remembered to express some milk before they got too big.
I mean, its a different idea... but hey- while you're pumping could you give some of that milk to your baby- or is there a medical/health reason she cant have your milk? Not trying to pry- just hate to see some good breastmilk go to waste lol.
Just be sure to dry up at least 4-6 months before wanting any boob surgery, good luck :)
Re: post baby pumping question ????
I had a friend who danced while she was lactating and she loved how it made her breasts look. It was like a free BA. She would say, "engorgement is gorgeous". LOL. She made sure she was nice and full during her shift.
Re: post baby pumping question ????
First of all, congrats on the baby!
Pumping is primarily used to maintain, establish, or increase a milk supply. I breast fed all my kids and had to use a pump at one time or another to maintain, establish, or increase my milk.
Pumping to keep your boobs big, I'm not too sure of. My boobs went back down to what they were pre-pregnancy even though I was still pumping. Your body kinda figures it all out, it's confusing, I know.
What I do suggest (and I really hope you are giving the baby the pumped milk) is stop pumping if the baby is not using it. Let your body adjust, dry up, and save for the BA.
TAKE A PICTURE OF WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE NOW! LOL So you can show your PS what they looked like and what you want them to look like.
Milk can take a LONG time to dry up. Some girls it's a few months, me it was 4 years. The rough idea is, the longer you use your breast to produce milk, the longer it MIGHT take for them to dry up. It's not the same case for everyone.
I took an antihistamine while breast feeding and it dried my milk up mid feeding, which is why I had to whip out the pump. I had one pissed off little boy for a couple days.
If you do wish for your milk to dry up faster, ask your Dr. There is a shot for it, can't remember the name.
If you do wish to continue pumping to keep your breast size, I wish you luck.
