working with an agency....?
Those of you who work for an agency...do you get enough steady work to keep you comfortable re: living expenses? Or do you have to supplement your PP gigs with club work or something else in order to make the $ that you need?
I need an average of $1000 a week to afford rent, bills, tuition, and a little bit of savings for whatever unexpected things might come up. How realistic is it to expect that with PP dancing? How much work do you generally get? How much can you expect to get when just starting out? Obviously I've got plenty of experience working in clubs, but am totally new to PP gigs.
I am in a major city, with two other fairly large cities each about an hour away that I'm willing to drive to, if that makes a difference.
(BTW, I'm only asking about PP agency work in the US. It seems like most of the PP dancers on here are in Australia, and the PP scene might be more popular/different there.)
Thanks :)
Re: working with an agency....?
i worked with an agency for two years and i am living in a smaller city lexington ky. i had non stop work here, i was working a full time sales job as well but it was only because i was supporting a shitty boyfriend. at one point i was dancing, working for the agency and the desk job to support him and myself but i eventually just dropped down to the agency work and i made on average about 5-600 a night. there were a few nights when I made nothing but i usualy made up for it the next night when i would make 600 or 1000.
Re: working with an agency....?
Wow, I wish my PP work was that consistent. I mostly work in strip clubs and I supplement it with PP agency work. I wish I could do only PP's--the money is better and it is consistent. The minute I walk into a bachelor party, somebody's putting cash into my hand. I never have to worry about leaving without money. Wish I could say the same for clubs.
However, it's nice to switch between club work and private parties. PPs provide a nice break from hustling and a refreshing change of atmosphere. But I like being on stage in the club, doing pole tricks, etc.
I really don't know how much work you can get in your city. In mine, I can go a month without getting booked for PPs. Or, when everyone's getting married (now), I might have 4 parties booked in one night.
The hourly rate for our parties is anywhere from $75-$150 an hour. They are usually around 2 hours, and the guys have to tip in addition to paying our rates.

Hi
By the sounds of it you are in Brisbane? Email me at [email protected] if you would like to know about the private party scene in Brisbane. Happy to put you in the right direction.
Thanks
