Why would a customer do this?
This is a question to all the gentlemen out there.
So I'm on a side stage, doing my hottest moves for a young dude who's tipping me pretty well. I let him know that if he's going to be this generous, he should enjoy a private dance when I get off the stage. He seems to like this idea. Three songs later, I'm off the stage and by his side.
Me: "Well, here I am, honey! Let's go sneak upstairs and have some fun on the couches!"
Him: "oh, um, well . . . I actually just ran out of cash. I'm totally broke."
Me: (smiling sweetly, undeterred) "That's ok. You know, we have an ATM over there." (I take his hand gently, and start leading him over)
Him: "I don't have any money in my checking account."
Me: "Well, I guess it's a good thing you brought your credit cards!" (I start drawing him towards the bar) "The bartender can get you some funny money. It'll be like disneyland, except stripper bux are waayyy more fun than mickey bux!"
HIm: "We don't have to do that. I was just kidding. I had cash all along." (He pulls out a $100 bill)
Me: :O . . . ;D . . . :O . . . }:D
And I gave him his money's worth.
My question is: why the rigamarole?

*scratches head*
Beats the shit outta me. That guy is just mixed up. Kudos to you though, you got that big one out of him anyways.
-
Re: Why would a customer do this?
Was enjoying the stage, really didn't want a lap dance, but was too uncomfortable to tell you no directly. When you had answers for all his indirect no's, his only comfortable option was to say yes. If you hadn't separated him from it, he would've spent it at the stage or left with it.
-
Re: Why would a customer do this?
^^ Totally. Good for you for hustling it! :)
-
Re: Why would a customer do this?
^ I agree. I don't know that I would've been that persistent. You go girl! ;D
-
Re: Why would a customer do this?
Yeah im going to have to agree. He was making excuses trying to get out of it, your wily charms either convinced him or ran him out of excuses.
-
Re: Why would a customer do this?
It sounds to me like he didn't want to buy a dance and was just making up dumb excuses...
I turn down dances, too, when a dancer just goes straight to "want a dance"... This makes me feel rushed... The girls I buy lap dances from are the ones that sit down, chat me up, have a few drinks with me and THEN offer me dances...
-
Re: Why would a customer do this?
I can understand sitting and chatting with you for a bit, but a few drinks equals alot of her time. A few mini bottles or a champagne would be worth it though.

They usually sit down and chat with me for about 10 - 20 minutes before asking if I want a dance... (Sometimes longer if business is slow or if they're thirsty and I get them a drink.) It seems like most of them operate this way at the GCs that I go to... There are a few that just come up to you and ask, "Do you want a dance..." But, most of them will ask if they can sit down with you... Then, they chat with you for a while... After about 10-20 minutes, they will ask if you want a dance. Of course, you cannot say no at this point. You feel obligated because of all the time you've spent together... If I'm not attracted to a dancer or not interested, for whatever reason, I'll tell her that I'm not looking to get a dance before she sits down with me...

Thankyouthankyouthankyou! There is nothing in the world MORE irritating than the come back later/I really don't want a dance from you/I'm just trying to be nice deal. GOD! I am a big girl, I hear no all the time. You don't want a LD from me? Cool beans.. that means I can move on.
I really really hate the guy that gives me that "come back later" bullshit. Don't jerk me around!

Re: Why would a customer do this?
There are two possible explanations, I believe, to this riddle.
1) as stated above he didn't want a dance in the first place and was looking for a way out. When an easy one wasn't presented he didn't know how to say no, so he took a dance he didn't want in the first place.
2) The exact opposite. He was flustered due to shyness or some other reason. He wanted a dance but didn't know how to make his wants known and the lack of control in the situation made him even more uneasy so he started looking for a way out even though a dance is what he wanted. Lots of guys, especially young and inexperienced ones, get nervous when confronted with the prospect of direct interaction with an attractive woman, get flustered and pull away. For them its easier than feeling they may do something that will make them look foolish.

Re: Why would a customer do this?
Well first of all....this is my very first post....
Second...Maybe he was just Shy and or intimidated. I mean as a dude...the smallest hint of being taken and or hustled is a buzz kill. Or maybe he was just wanting to save his money or stretch it out so to speak. Who knows? I know when i go into the club...I am there on a budget. I mean it sucks sitting in the club with no money!

This post to me indicates something of a sense of entitlement. Someone is not at the club to just simply throw money at the dancers. “Come Back Later” may actually mean come back later. People often need to settle in – and this does not only pertain to strip clubs. Just like the waiter who demands to take your order as soon as you sit down, it can be annoying. And the poster above is correct – too much hustle is a huge buzz kill. Think of the feeling you get on a car lot when you are out looking for a cool new car and you get stuck with the pushy salesman. It is identical. The customer may give in to your pitch that night but but after the light of day he will not return. Talk about killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

Crow2, I would NEVER turn down a dance from you...;)

Except for the fact that "come back later" really tends to mean "No, but I can't really say no to you, so I'll let you down easy with a "come back later" and hopefully you'll get busy or you'll forget so you won't actually come back later so that way I won't have to come up with another lame ass excuse".

I am entitled to nothing - " Come back later" usually means, I don't want a dance from you but I'm trying to be nice. If one says simply .. " No" or even.. "No, thank you" I wont bother that man again. If he tells me to "come back" I make it a habit to go back three times. Usually when I do go back, he's annoyed. Looking elsewhere at someone else. Talking to his friends. Or staring off into space like I simply don't exist. THEN, I'm a pushy salesperson. When the customer tells me Yes or no, it's easy and wont waste my time.. when I have to go back and go back for nothing and aggravate that man. It wastes my time where I could be pursuing someone and or something much more profitable and enjoyable.
I've also found the word "hustle" very distasteful. To me it's linked to stealing ( That's just me don't freak out ) That's why I keep the customer base that I do - because I'm NOT pushy or hustle-y.

Point well taken. I had no intent to insult.

Non taken. Simple explanation. :)

Re: Why would a customer do this?
To me, it sounds like a guy who didn't plan on spending that money before walking into the club but deep down wanted dances. His head got him as far as making half hearted excuses without really ever saying no all the while hoping you'd convince him otherwise. Some guys just need a little push.
Re: the "come back later" line, I've used it on rare occasions. When I do, I make it known that it's because I had already committed to dances with Bubbles but that I'd like to get some with her when we're done. Other times, I get wanna danced too soon after just entering the club. If I know I want to get dances from her but am just not ready yet, I ask her to come by again in a while to allow me to settle in first and tell her I'll be sure to buy dances when she does. I try to make it clear that I'm trying to fill out my dance card when I say "come back later." I'll never say "maybe later."

Re: Why would a customer do this?
Interesting thread. There have been numerous blue side threads about how to say no to a dancer without being a dick about it. Personally, I want to get to "wanna dance" as fast as possible (which is how it plays in Az), so I can get to YES or NO THANKS as fast as possible. If I say no thanks, it is with a big smile. If I truly want them to come back later, I make that very clear to them and explain why. Now, it's tougher when I say no thanks and the dancer (the smart ones) says "should I come back and check on you later?", but then I just say no thanks, I'm really here to see someone else. The even smarter ones will then ask, "really, who? I'll let her know you are here", which means you had damn well have been honest with that last answer and can give her a name.
Of course it's much more fun to say YES, but it doesn't mean you can't be selective, and be very nice about saying no thanks with a smile. One of the best things about being in a SC is looking across a roomful of gorgeous women and seeing THE ONE that you want to get on your lap. There is absolutely nothing wrong or rude about saying no thanks to others while you wait for ms. perfect to come your way.

Of Course! I will TELL guys that if they see someone they fancy I will go and get her for him. My only complaint with the "come back later" line - men use it MUCH to often and that when they do it wastes my time.

Yeah, I don't get this word either. Hustle, like in pool hall hustler who cons people. It implies that the dancer is a con artist/thief. Being charming and selling dances makes you a good saleswoman, not a hustler.

I know everyone has different associations with certain words. With me I've always thought it meant to hurry. When I play basketball we're always yelling to hustle down the court, football our coaches would drill that into us. When others feel ripped off through a hustle I always think it's because they were hurried through whatever process went down before they fully grasped the situation.
Just my dos pennies.

Re: Why would a customer do this?
The first thing that came to mind when I read the OP was that he was playing hard to get, ya know, a little head game to see how far you would push him for a dance.
I'm a little clueless usually tho

I agree. I definitely did not mean to insult, I think of it as a word that means getting the job done!
