Shoes shoes shoes
I've always wondered what it was with women and shoes. What is the deal? I though, you wear shoes so you don't have to walk barefoot. Then I became a dancer, and now I get it. Shoes are great! And dancing shoes are so comfortable ;D
After been wearing such high heels at work, I can't walk in anything under 5" heels, put me in a pair of 3" shoes and I'll stumble around like a retard. Put me in a pair of 5.5" though and I'll dance around like a gazelle! }:D
Am going to buy a pair of dancing shoes to wear outside work, these kind of heels would be okay, wouldn't they?

Re: Shoes shoes shoes
Ultimately, if you're comfortable, then rock them!
Personally I like the last ones the best for OTC. The black ones would likely be the least conspicuous, while the ones with the plastic heals might be the most noticible
Now IMO, if you mean to wear them to an office day job, you might raise a few eyebrows. However, if you're just going out shopping or socializing than any of them should be fine. Much will also depend on the rest of your overall look.
Also, it's not always just about the platform. A wooden heal or a print pattern may be less likely to be associated with a dancer than clear plastic or metalic.
For example this is a platform sandal, which doesn't necessarily scream "Dancer"...

Enjoy your shoes!

^^^ I would totally rock those

Re: Shoes shoes shoes
I understand what you mean about the plastic heels. I actually don't think that the first pair (black with clear plastic heel) look good at all.
I'm in love with the silver pair, I really like the shape and the colour. Wearing them for going out clubbing/going out for dinner wouldn't be too much, would it? Wearing a little black dress, a skirt and a top (not very revealing) or even jeans with it, should be okay I think.
The last pair (all black) basically look like something you could buy in any ordinary shoestore

^^^ Absolutely. If you're going out socially for dinner or to a night club, they would certainly be fine.
Have fun!

Re: Shoes shoes shoes
Oh man i totally get what you are saying! I never wore heels until i started dancing. Then i realized how awesome towering over people is! Now i hate not wearing heels. I feel like my legs look stumpy without heels lol.
When i go dancing outside of work i often wear my first pair of stripper boots. They are like 5 inches and are mad comfy, although they are beat the hell up and smell pretty awful when i take them off. But usually when i go dancing its at a goth club or something so it works.... Of the 3 you posted, the last one is totally appropriate. The shoe that verfolung posted is also pretty sweet. I like the clear ones too... but be warned... normal society frowns upon clear shoes. If this doesnt bother you then dance away!

Re: Shoes shoes shoes
I love, love, LOVE shoes, and not everyone can ROCK a pair... so I say those who can, SHOULD!
I'd RATHER see someone who can actually WALK in heels, (even, gulp! clear heels, lol ;) ANY day of the week, THAN some heifer clumsily stomping around in them... (VERY painful to watch!)
Just my .02

Re: Shoes shoes shoes
If it's the clear heel that gives the 2nd paiur 'away', would spraypainting the heels in silver then do the trick? :)

Are you into pink? Granted these do have clear heel, but they are kinda cool.

I was totally going to post the shoes video. I feel that is a bit tired though.

Re: Shoes shoes shoes
A lady I work with claims to have 150 pairs of shoes. I believe her too. She checks them out every day, smiling when she says " looking at my shoes makes me feel good."
I don't get it but she isn't hurting anyone. Still, 150 pairs of shoes! Can you believe she hides new shoes from her husband?
