SD payment methods
I'm not sure if this question belongs in this thread, sorry if it should be somewhere else.
I think I've finally managed to find a decent SD, but this will be my first one. He said he will pay my salary however I want, he mentioned cash, deposit into an account, or to pay me directly from his company as an outside consultant if I wanted to have taxes, social security and such taken out. I'd like to do something other than just being handed cash so I can count on being paid regularly, if any of you ladies could offer advice I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Re: SD payment methods
Cash. Unless it's some huge amount - over six grand and so on.
Cash is best.

Re: SD payment methods
Just because he cuts you a check, doesn't make it any more reliable than being handed cash.
He could just decide to NOT write that check.
Other methods to accept payment: Paypal, Alertpay, Amazon tip jar, Western Union into your acccount

Re: SD payment methods
Cold hard cash in your hand - all those other ways can be charged back and have a stopped payment put on them.
Plus, if the cash is not given. Time to get another "Daddy".
Also, any large ticket items given as gifts ( cars and etc ) make sure IT GETS PUT IN YOUR NAME. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Re: SD payment methods
Thank you both for the advice! I'm discovering the SD world seems to have the same learning curve as dancing. I'm excited at the possibilities, though. The more I learn, and the more wisdom I apply from the club, the more I'm sure I will insist on cash!

Here's another idea - you can open up a separate bank account for "Daddy" to put your money in. Usually most banks have to have a signature and an account number to make a withdrawal. When it gets to be a certain amount, withdraw it and leave in the minimum amount to keep the account open.
Just an idea. :P

Re: SD payment methods
I recently got an offer from an SD as well...
He has done this kind of thing before, and he seems to be a pretty experienced SD. I'll tell you what he offered to me. He said he will have a separate business bank account so he can easily give me money, this will be an account for "consultant expenses." He said he will put my name on the account and give me a debit card with my name on it, and he will deposit my allowance into this account on the first of every month. I will be able to spend the money on bills, shopping, or I can just make cash withdrawals. He said I won't have to pay taxes on it, because this is set up like an expense account, rather than as a salary, etc.
I can't say I know too much about this method because I've never tried it myself...
This has just been offered to me, so I thought I'd share what he told me.

Re: SD payment methods
Certified bank check/money order drawn on his bank. He can leave 'sender' blank if you are protecting your real name.
