"Interview"...Thoughts Please
Condensed Version:
I called the club I want to work at and the hiring manager said I could come in for an audition whenever. I want to come in tomorrow and so I call to set up an audition but, after not getting a hold of the hiring manager, another person who I assume also does hiring tells me I can come in for an interview. What happens at an interview and does the change from audition to interview mean anything?
Detailed Version: Blah, blah, blah...unnecessary.
Re: "Interview"...Thoughts Please
mgmt is really bad in most clubs, and one manager might not have said anything to another manager, or they may just have diff. hiring ideas.
come dressed for an interview, but make sure to keep the stripperbag in the car just in case they do let you work.
make sure to ask at the end of the interview if you can start that night.
Re: "Interview"...Thoughts Please
its totaly diffest over here in he uk but i expect that manager number 1 may have let you work had you passed your audition(maybe, maybe not) and manager number 2 would have ineviewed you and then reported back to manager number 1 on her findings who would have either called you to come auditon on the pole or decided not to hire you x
Re: "Interview"...Thoughts Please
I'd suggest calling THAT NIGHT, and asking if you can come in in an hour and audition. Make sure you're dolled up, and have a dance bag with you. I've never had a club that I had to interview at, so this really just sounds like a case of miscommunication. Plan on working that night, have that confidence that it will happen. It doesn't matter if you're new, just act like you know what you're doing and rock it. If a manager is on the fence about you and you're nervous, they might just choose to pass you over.
Clubs are busy, and appointments are easily forgotten. Either call an hour ahead, or just show up and say you want to audition. If there's an amateur contest, that works best, but if not, just call or head in. Don't ask them to audition, tell them you'd like to come in and audition and you want to know who it is you should ask for.
Don't worry about being nervous, just act like you aren't, and you're gonna rock that club like no one's business.
Re: "Interview"...Thoughts Please
Okay, the hiring manager just returned my phone call and said I'd just have to come in a bit early w/ID so he could get that stuff out of the way, have the girls show me around a bit, and then I'd be working the rest of the night :D. Guess you guys and the more positive part of me was right...the two guys who do hiring just go about it differently.
So exited, will report back as to how the night went.

Wow, I can't believe it! It was a slow night as expected and while I hoped to make ~$200, after paying house fees and the dj tip out (plus an extra $10 for the help he gave), I left with $331 ;D.
I'm so exited and can't wait to go back in tonight. With any luck I'll make even more than that and maybe discover another set of muscles I didn't know existed (the top side of my thighs are hurting, wtf?)
Anyways, thanks for all the help ladies....now I can officially move on from the newbie board.
