my intro
I just wanted to be upfront about who I was and why I'll occassionally browse this message board. I've actually read up (and continue to read up) on the websites that cater to guys, so hopefully this website will balance that out.
I'm somewhat considering going the entrepreneurship route in this industry because it seems to be somewhat recession proof. Not sure if it would be a club here in the USA or outside the country. Right now it is just purely research. I'm afraid our country's standard of living (and even the world's) has taken a permanent hit and it is not something that we will just rebound from in a couple years. I got lucky by owning McDonald's stock (thank you McCafe hehe), but long term I'm trying to find something that will be viable as an investment.
Most of my strip club experience has been for friends getting married or friends turning 18 or 21 (or just having a birthday). I actually visited a local club for no reason other than to look it over without 10 or 20 guys talking to me or throwing beers at me.
The economy seems to have hurt business, but there were some customers that night. Many of the restaurants seem to be near or completely empty, so it certainly could be worse. It was a BYOB establishment so I brought my own beer (Grolsch). The girls ended up drinking more of the beer than I did. Seemed unusual, but it is not a common beer so I understand the curiosity.
It is easy for me to spot drunks or drug users. A few guys were completely out of it, but at worst a couple girls just looked a little buzzed. I think I came in a little before 11 PM and left a little before 3 AM. I'm a little fuzzy on the math but I probably spent between 250 and 300 bucks in the place. That was the longest I've been in a strip club, and it was the first time I really looked around and examined the whole culture.
I saw all types. Some were drinking busch beer and tipping one dollar bills. They were clearly on a budget and wouldn't be doing many (if any) private dances. One guy who came in I actually knew. He was married and came in to watch a few stage dances, get a private dance, and head home.
It seemed pretty cheap to tip each dancer a buck and sit by the stage and many guys were doing just that. I put down a few bucks each time, but I'm not sure that is the norm. Actually it probably depends on the clientele and the location geographically as much as anything. But compared to concert tickets or sporting event tickets the club is a pretty good bargain for entertainment (at least it seemed that way to me).
Not being a regular I had no idea that once away from stage the guys become fair game so to speak. Maybe it was just because I was alone, but a girl couldn't walk by without either saying something or looking for a signal.
Anyways I really don't have much to add to the forum, but I wanted to introduce myself because this looks like a forum mostly for professional dancers... so if I post something or ask something you'll at least know my background and where I'm coming from.
