Most clubs are pretty open to that, however I don't tell them i'm only in town for a day, i allude to possibly staying longer - i feel they are more welcoming that way. Otherwise i have taken several cross country strip-trips that went well- sometimes the club is so happy to see you- they'll front your hotel- esp in east bubmblefuck locations
Sounds like a super fun trip!! Good luck;)
I would like to do something like this is the future so I'm really curious to see how it goes for you. In my experience people who are into couchsurfing are really accepting of different lifestyles. But yeah I feel kinda weird about telling people too. The only thing I can say is just check out their profiles and see if they seem like the kind of person who would be ok with it, and make sure to tell them before hand to avoid any awkwardness.
Good luck! I hope you meet some great people and see some amazing new places. Definitely give us some updates!
Several areas require licenses to dance, so be aware of that. In some cities you can walk in and work immediately at most clubs, in some, you will have to get on a schedule of some sort. I think scheduling is more prevalent on the east coast and in the midwest.
What areas are you interested in? I would advise researching your target areas here and on other stripper-related sites before you head off on the trail.
I just wanted to say that is so cool. I wish I could do something like that. Please keep us updated on how it goes! Or start a blog so we can follow your travels :)
It depends on the city. Phoenix requires licensing, but is otherwise easy to just walk into a club and start work in.
When I was in Dallas and Austin (April/May of '07) I had no trouble with this. Austin, especially. I made no bull about the fact that I was in town for a week, and I worked 3 shifts, and the manager told me I was welcome back any time I was in town.
I found Atlanta's licensing deal to be prohibitively expensive for even being in the area for two whole months.
If you search Club Chat on the individual cities you're going to visit (for licensing) and the general forums for questions about traveling to dance, you should find lots more helpful info.
hey, did you ever go?? i am trying to plan a dancing roadtrip with one of my girls. we'd be interested in hearing your experiences and where you danced!
