Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition
I checked out the club I really want to work at. The manager told me to come during the day because they do auditions everyday. He said i could wear like a 2 piece and reg heels. My cash is tight so i'm tempted to wear my 2 piece bikini but don't want to hurt my chances.
He allowed me to stay but I had to stay at the bar without talking to customers. I sat down, ordered a super cheap drink, and watched like a hawk (without her glasses). The club is small, mellow, and nice. I liked that the manager and bouncers were on floor keeping watch.
All the dancers (-1) were hot, stylish, and talented. The dancer I would guess as a newbie from her dancing had an expensive boob job. I felt good about myself and the club when I checked it out. I guess I have concerns about being the broke newbie auditioning. I can be hot but $$ stress makes it a challenge (outfit, shoes, & waxing). I didn't get info from any dancers because I didn't want to waste their time not being able to tip them at least $20 (hardcore broke without a job, can anyone relate?) I really like this place.
I was wondering if anyone started out as a super broke newbie at a club with hot, stylish, and talented dancers? If so, I would love to hear your story or advice. I know broke is on a person's want list below being sick & dead. I hope I'm not the first on stripperweb:'( and someone responds.
Re: Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition
Hi a year and a half ago when I was 18 I was broke spent the last of my money on bad jessica simpson clip in hair extensions lol.I was scared they were gonna fall out of my hair.Managment was so nice to me,I wore my juicy couture bikini lol and had clear 7 inch stripper shoes(What was i thinking???)I would practice in the miror and watch the movie strip tease alot. When I got up on stage the first time I was so nervouse I would not let go of the pole.Honestly managment most likely wont care about what your wearing, they are just watching to see if your body looks good. They dont expect you to be good on the pole since your new to it. Just do your hair and makeup to look your sexiest and feel confident. Also wear something you feel confident in.Good luck and have a great time.
Re: Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition
Guys don't buy dances because you're wearing a really expensive stripper outfit. :)
Just find things that look good on YOU and don't limit yourself to "dancer stores" because they are ridiculously overpriced. I have a few skirt/thongs from Victoria's Secret that I got at their semi-annual sale for $12.50 each. I have bras from Forever 21 that were $8. And I have some Forplay outfits that I paid $60 for, $35 bottoms and a RIDICULOUSLY overpriced $60 bikini top I bought when I was drunk ::). I do not make more money in the expensive clothes, my most money making item is a plaid school girl skirt I bought at not even a dancer store for $14.99. I make money in the clothes I like and think I look good in because that confidence is attractive.
I know a lot of girls complain about "her outfit is so cheap... ugh a Forever 21 thong??" but seriously you just have to know what looks good on you and be able to MATCH and STYLE your outfits (Forever 21 thongs can look VERY bad... they can also VERY good). You will save so much more money this way and will stand out so much more. Don't walk out there looking a mess, but you don't have to spend $$$ on stripper clothes. (oh, and those same girls who are bitching about the Forever 21 thongs... are asking me where I got my my $1.99 thong from Ross ::))
To look like a "hot" stripper you just have to find your OWN style and be comfortable with it. I am more on the alternative side and definitely don't dress like the "traditional" stripper. This has never been the reason I was rejected from a dance. It actually gets me a lot of customers cause they don't forget me!
As far as beauty treatments go, you don't need to spend $100 on waving a month $20 on nails a week $5000 on boobs and dye your hair blonde and become tan. You don't need to look like everyone else. Just take care of your body and become comfortable with it. Guys are not going to a fourth of as critical as you are.
Also, wait before investing tons of $$ into your stripper wardrobe. Make sure you are going to do this for a while before you buy $500 worth of clothes and shoes. and shop online its insane how much cheaper stuff is! i tried on a dress today that was $40 that I saw online for $25.
Re: Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition
Everyone pretty much starts out as a super broke newbie. I wore a black thong and matching bra with a black wrap I already had the first week, and yep, I wore regular black 3 inch heels. I don't recomend this, but when you are broke, you can't really afford a couple of hundred for outfits.
I really disagree about cheap thongs working just as well. 10 years of experience has taught me that once you really start working the pole you NEED thongs designed for dancing. A regular one will slide around and you may not be covered when you want to be. Dancers thongs are designed to stay in place and not stretch out of shape.
I DO NOT recommend waxing either. It takes too long to grow out, so unless you can work 2 weeks, take 2-3 weeks off, it isn't a feasible option. The vast majority of veteran dancers shave instead. Easy, economical and you will be hair free every night, which is very important.
As for your nails, Acrylics really are best, but if you can't afford them, don't worry. If you can afford $5 for a store kit, I recommend Kiss's Everlasting French. They look as good or better than salon nails and come in a short, neat style that is really polished and nice looking. If you can't afford them, just file your nails so they are neat and DON'T bite or pick at them at work. Don't forget to do a French Pedi to match, or if you can't do an at home, just trim and file then use a glossy topcoat until you can afford to get a salon Pedi.
Re: Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition
Thank you so much for your replies (never got 3 before). I am going to get some shoes today. I have some reg heels but they lack comfort. I hate that I waited till I was broke but better late than never. I couldn't spend a lot of $ on gear if i wanted to.
I have read in threads that it's not a good idea for anyone to know your real name (except the manager when doing paperwork) at the club but when i checked it out the girl at the door checked my ID. How can i prevent the other workers from seeing my ID the next time or do you think it matters?
Re: Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition
Taylor, I am so in the same boat as you. I'm pretty much going to play up what I have in confience for what I lack moneywise.
Someone else posted this website, it has really cheap clothes. My plan is get cheap stuff and once I get more money I can work up to more expensive things, and things that will be higher quality as well (I'm guessing these cheap outfits will probably last like 2 or 3 shirts before they fray or something).
However, I am NOT finding any cheap shoes ANYWHERE! Does anyone have any suggestions? Or should I just prepare myself to drop $50 on some Pleasers?
Re: Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition
Thirty dollasd is good, I have two new pairs in the box so I'm going to hide my credit cards and take a peep! LOL, girls if you are that broke, I've seen outfits on ebay before, just make sure you wash them really well and don't share thongs (duh!), then in a week or two buy some new.
Re: Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition
I sure did and my first night was amazing. Broke or not its work and you just do your job. ^_^

[quote=Guenevere;1830974]Lol, really? Check out my siggy, hahaha! I've got a big shoe sale today too, between 30-35 a pair on average!

Thank you!!! I was counting shipping money with the shoes but it's good to know I can get something for $30, so maybe $40 total? I can swing that.
I'm not entirely broke, I have a part time job, just not an extra couple hundred to throw around, so for now let's get some bargain bins!!!;D
I'm digging this website, someone on SW posted it.

Omg. I can't believe all the kind people that took time out of their day to reply especially when they could be out making the big bucks! I feel so much better.
K Sweet: Your post means a lot because it's a relief to know that I'm not the only Newbie currently trying to get into dancing on a tight budget.
I know real support is priceless and I don't take it for granite (It's amazing what important lessons life will teach you when you're at rock bottom aka broke). I greatly appreciate all the replies because each of them have value. I don't have to tell you guys that you rock but You guys all Rock!
I know i need to get a $30 permit before my audition. I already have my shoes, garter, and outfit so the only thing left is some Major stretching. I am once again excited, yeah! I have 2 clubs lined up.
If I get rejected by both clubs please look for my new thread in the Newbie forum:
Rejected by 2 clubs in 1 Day!
Thanks Again Everybody!
Re: Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition

I'm taking Strip and Grow Rich now. There is a good Stripping 101 video they have on youtube. You should watch it to boost your confidence and knowledge before you try out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWtBx...er_profilepage
Re: Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition
You seem like a genuine sweet heart. I bet that shines through in how you come across too, like how you took the time to thank each person that commented individually. That is rare that someone is so sweet and also so genuinely interested that they make the effort to be thankful for specific details. People WILL notice that, especially after a few nights and WILL seek you out for it. Shoot if I was a guy and a customer I don't even need to know what you look like, you're so ridiculously genuine that I want a lapdance from you LOL.
So, as far as your look, you don't have to spend a lot of money, but I would get heels, high ones! They make you feel sexy and powerful, at least to me they do. I wear 7 in but started with 6 in, higher the better IMO. Also, you seem like someone who'd do pastel colors well and I don'tknow if you club allows lingerie (the ones I work at havent except one night a week), so I'd say a simple pink backless halter dress. It would complement how nice you are so well, so customers would remember later in the week, oh yeah the nice dancer - in the light pink dress! LOL. Also, light colors stand out against the lighting in the clubs.
You don't need nails, fake nails are bad for your hands anyway. Short is back in style I think so it's all good. Best beauty product is good lotion, olive oil soap, and exfoliating gloves. Take care of your skin and you wont really need much foundation. Basically whatever you've been told is your best facial feature just buy the make-up that plays up that feature (ex if you have nice lips get a good lip plumper in a flattering color). Make-up is there to enhance good features not hide bad ones, if you think of it like that you'll save a ton! I know I have, just by changing my mindset like that.

I'm in your same shoes. :( But I haven't had the chance to audition yet.
Re: Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition
I got hired. I have already worked 2 days. I will work my third tomorrow. I am having trouble with getting lapdances and drinks(illegal to ask) so I have some reading to do.

Congrats! Keep us updated. ;D
Re: Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition
My first day I watched a lot. I did 1 lapdance that another dancer hooked up for me.
The second day I was more social but with time wasters and didn't ask everyone for a lapdance. I did 1 lapdance.
My third shift I did 6 lapdances and got 1 commissioned drink. I was feeling like I getting the hang of it. I ran into 2 time wasters and allowed them to waste my time.
The forth shift I did 1 lap dance for a guy that I talked to for over 35 minutes. He didn't buy me a drink and it was a super slow shift. I explained to him the CR and lapdance prices. He talked about hanging out OTC & I let him know that I was busy/uninterested. When I gave him a lapdance he wanted to rub and grab on my breasts and tried for my Cookie but I stopped him. I went on stage once and got $2. I tipped the DJ and didn't have anything to tip the bouncer to walk me to my car so I felt beyond embarrassed. The positive is I have a low tolerance for time wasters and no longer feel bad about cutting it short even if it's slow. I got great advice from a former dancer at the club to practice when it's slow and did that for the rest of shift. I had to take today off for a mental health day because I felt low last night.
That is my update.
Re: Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition
well stick with it taylor, sounds like you're learning and improving! and don't be embarrassed for not tipping the bouncer, you seem so sweet i'm sure they don't mind. they've been around and know that it takes some time for new girls to get in their groove.
Re: Hot Dancers - Broke Newbie Audition
Congrats on the first few days of your new job! Sounds very promising and you sound like you have a good head on your shoulders! I wish you all the best! :)

I think your level of brokeness affecting your audition depends on the club. If the club prefers veterans you might not get hired or put on day shift. Sometimes clubs that are high end and full of hot stylish dancers like newbies though. My first club was an upscale club that loved taking on new girls. My friend auditioned for them in normal pumps (not stripper heels) and got hired.
