Commuting to work 1.5 to 2 hours each and and go to school school?
Am, I crazy to consider this? Who else has a heavy commute? pros/cons?
Re: Commuting to work 1.5 to 2 hours each and and go to school school?
i did that for awhile when i was in college, although it was a bit over an hour there and back. Prepare to be exhausted. I mainly worked on the weekends so i'd get a room. Eventually i decided the money spent on gas/rooms and the time spent driving made the seedier club in town more worthwhile.
Re: Commuting to work 1.5 to 2 hours each and and go to school school?
It's an hr drive to my club for my house. It's also a 30 min drive to school from my house. I love my club so it's worth it to me. Yes it's a hastle but it just becomes something you do...

I grew up in a place where everything is at least 30 mins away, you really do get used to it.

Cool, well I live in San Francisco. I am not really making money here :( im a thicker ethnic girl but SF is diverse so that may not be it. However in LA and Sunnyvale I always made money. I dont give the economy thing a chance because I do see girls arounbd me making lots of VIPS and $$$ (mainly skinny white chicks, no offense to anyone just an observation).
Also, being that I am born and raised here, now with a psycho ex boyfriend lol, I want to stop dancing in SF. Plus, I heard from a friend that one of her friends is banking in Sac right now. So
I looked up hotels, and I can get a room for $30 a night, I figure thats not bad at all! I'm going to audition next Monday hopefully Im in! :)
Re: Commuting to work 1.5 to 2 hours each and and go to school school?
I used to drive 2 hours to my club and most of the time I didn't get a room and would drive home at night. I just made sure to leave the club at a decent hour.
Re: Commuting to work 1.5 to 2 hours each and and go to school school?
I like to keep a good distance between home/work for safety reasons & privacy. I don't need customers knowing what brand of toothpaste I buy or my license plate # so they can get my info & shit. I lived 2 hours from work, so I'd stay at a hotel near the club (helps to know people in the hospitality industry) on Thu/Fri/Sat, drive home Sunday morning. It was a good system for me.

Hmmm... I'm on the road evey thursday through Sat to my club. If the club is worth it, than it's worth it!
