Re: Big Fish N Small Pond?
I personally bank on being an attractive girl in a dive.
If you're happy with your money currently, then stay where you are. Bigger clubs may look nicer, have hotter girls, and even treat you better, but that doesn't mean the money is better. They usually have high tipouts, prettier girls (which can make you feel less special, which will then affect your earnings), etc.
I think you should continue taking advantage of your situation unless you feel the club is too much of a dive (i.e. unsafe) or if you'd simply prefer dancing in a nicer club.
Don't move to Vegas if you're banking in Montana. (not that you live in Montana or that you'd want to move to Vegas). Money is money. It doesn't matter if you can make $500 a night in a nicer club if you're already making good money in your dive.
To devil's advocate myself--If you're uncomfortable staying at your current club and still need to scratch the itch to try out something bigger, then why not amateur at a nicer club just to see what it feels like? There's no harm in doing so.
Re: Big Fish N Small Pond?
yes i'd agree that it really all depends on how things are working out at your club now. if you're making a lot of money being the hottest girl there and you're not unhappy with the club, then stay.
i work at a club with gorgeous dancers and there's a lot of pressure to stay on top of your looks game and get cosmetic procedures. but we have great working conditions.. big beautiful club, lots of helpful staff, and very nice customers. most nights i love it, but some times i miss the relaxed atmosphere of a dive.
so there's pros and cons to each, but i'd suggest milking this club for as much as you can as long as you can take it :)
Re: Big Fish N Small Pond?
I've worked at a particular club where I was the "hottest" girl and I can tell you it got kind of annoying. A lot of girls got catty and I developed a bad reputation from not even talking to anyone! haha I went to work - worked - might have made some small talk but that was it. And just off of that I developed a bad rep. off some girls who were just immature.
I love working at the bigger club I'm at now with plenty of hot girls. The way I see it is - if there are lots of hot girls that will bring in more customers and more customers bring in their friends to check out all the hot girls. Our club makes about 100k a week off dances + drinks whatever so it's a busy club and flooding with girls. The only thing is - being at a club like this you really have to know how to hustle and know how to spend your time wisely.
Re: Big Fish N Small Pond?
I work in a dive and am one of the "hottest" girls and I wouldn't change it for anything. I love everything about my club and I make a ton of money. If you're doing well I see no reason to change anything.
Re: Big Fish N Small Pond?
I've done this and one of my favorite things was fairly quick dance sales. The qualified customers seem a little more willing to get dances right away vs. slower buying decision in the posh club I was at. The big down side for me was that I worked at a place where you were only topless onstage and I HATED going on that stage because there were a lot of unqualified buyers in the club - thug types who were NOT spending on anyone. I hated this situation ( so many people not tipping on stage when so many eyes were on you ) . But ..... I did have fun with the customers who liked me .... just hated to go on stage. It wasn't too uncommon to see me turned towards one guy the whole time ( hopefully showing as little skin as possible to the non-spenders ).

Lol thats what I should have done when I was on stage in the dive I used to work at.
I eventually got fed up with the hit and miss customers. They were either willing to spend or they were no money free feel type of customers. I hated the fact that they got to see me nude for free. I used to take my thong off for the last 10 seconds when I was at the back of the stage. I personally prefer working in a higher end club as I get way less hassle from the customers and they are cleaner.
Re: Big Fish N Small Pond?
nothing wrong with being the hot girl. If you'd rather move on to a nicer club, think of this current club as your training ground, where you perfect your skills. I still refer to my first club (a major dive) as my "boot camp".

Yeah .... you might think " topless is topless ..... whatever ........ " until it's YOU up there . I mean ....... I really had a hard time there. It just felt so gross to be showed no appreciation at all . They didn't DESERVE to see me topless and I didn't work at the dive very long even though it was a very easy going place to work at and the girls/entire staff were really nice.

Re: Big Fish N Small Pond?
I think it all comes down to money. The money potential in dive bars usually isn't as high as it is in gentlemen's clubs. So you can rake in the majority of the money in a dive bar or a smaller percentage of the money in a gentlemen's club.... however the money could be the same dollar amount or not. The only way for you to really know is to try it out.
Re: Big Fish N Small Pond?
It seems to be a preferred tactic in Portland. When I was new my stripper friends used to tell me about how they'd do this all the time- find a divey place with not-so-hot dancers, work there a couple days and clean house!
Re: Big Fish N Small Pond?
Where ever you are happiest and make the most money is the place you should be working at.
It just so happens that the club that I work at is where I make the most money. That is probably what makes me like the place so much.
