Clubs that pay an hourly rate?
Hello, fellow dancers!
I was just wondering which clubs throughout the United States still pay dancers to dance?
For example, years ago I danced at the Crazy Horse Theatre in San Francisco, CA. They paid their dancers minimum wage, and you also made money from tips on stage, lap dances, etc. I don't know if they still do this. /:O
The Deja Vu chain in North Hollywood offer to pay their dancers a hourly rate starting at $15 per hour, however, you have to sell at least 8 dances per shift or they can refuse to pay the hourly rate. Any dances you do sell, they keep all the money since they're paying you. >:(
We all know that the unionized Lusty Lady pays its entertainers an hourly rate. ;D
So tell me ladies, what other clubs throughout the U.S. pays its dancers an hourly rate to dance?
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Velvet Rose (just arrived in Las Vegas)
Re: Clubs that pay an hourly rate?
Ok, I've also found out that they pay a hourly/weekly rate in Hawaii and Alaska.
I know from experience that in Guam, the clubs pay the dancers $450 every six days. You can also make money from dances, champagne rooms, stage tips and drink commission.
Any info about other clubs throughout the United States would be greatly appreciated. :)
Re: Clubs that pay an hourly rate?
There are some clubs in Montana that pay a weekly rate: Shotgun Willies in Billings and I think The Playground in Great Falls. You have to work the full booking (just like Guam) to get the shift pay.
Scarlett O'Hara's in Sioux Falls SD used to pay a weekly rate to the girls, with an extra $25 for Sundays, but I'm not sure if they are still doing that.
Of course, Bachelor party dancing pays a flat rate for every show before tips. That is probably going to be your most reliable source of hourly pay with the strip-o-gram type of shows.
Re: Clubs that pay an hourly rate?
Scarletts pays a booking fee to local dancers.
If they pay for your airfare and hotel, then you don't get a base fee.
Re: Clubs that pay an hourly rate?
Hey velvet!!
I was going to make a post similar to this, I have lived in Vegas 5 years, and have never heard of any clubs out here offering hourly rates/weekly pay like guam, but if you hear of any please let me know.
Where is the LUSTY LADY club you are speaking about?
Re: Clubs that pay an hourly rate?
Hey, CyberStripper! :)
You can research the Lusty Lady online.
It's a unionized peep show club in San Francisco that pays it's entertainers an hourly rate as part of the whole union thing. A friend of mine used to dance there. She liked it. They have a strict "no re-hire" policy. So if you go there to work, plan on staying a while, because once you stop working there, there's no coming back.
I believe every 6-8 weeks they also give you a raise on your hourly pay.
You also have the opportunity to earn tips and private shows.
Let me know if you hear about any hourly paying clubs ANYWHERE in the U.S.

I'm sorry I can't help you on your request but I was wondering why they won't re-hire people. It made me very curious. Do you know the reason for it?
Re: Clubs that pay an hourly rate?
I've heard the Lusty girls make about $30 an hour, but since I haven't worked there myself, I'm not positive.
Re: Clubs that pay an hourly rate?
You say just arrived in LV?
You aren't planning on dancing there are at all are you? Just wondering.
There's a Lusty Lady in Seattle too, downtown.I called them once and I believe the highest pay is $25/hr. I know this wasn't much help, sorry.

I thought so
If you are an out of towner will they hire you? Id love to work at a club like this but I live in Vegas. Do they hire traveling dancers who can stay a week or two, and come back?
Re: Clubs that pay an hourly rate?
I know some bikini ("gogo") bars in Jersey pay their dancers, usually between $8-$10 a set. An average shift consists of 6 or 7 sets, so that's up to $70 a shift. Not bad, but these clubs usually don't offer lap dancing at all, or take half of your lapdance money, plus tipping the DJ is still required.
However, I believe a lot of clubs that did offer shift pay no longer do, and certainly most of the top bikini bars follow the usual model and charge house fee.
I would kill to work at the Lusty Lady-just once, just to say I did :D
Re: Clubs that pay an hourly rate?
I think mitchell brothers pays an hourly wage.. Or that's what it said on its webpage at one point..but you give it all back in the ridiculously high house fees. The website also says they provide health insurance though. Crazy horse doesn't do shift pay anymore. I worked at dejavu and when they told me about the 15 an hour thing I was like "why would anyone chose that option??" If you're gonna sell 8 dances that's almost the same as 15 an hour anyway. And if you're not gonna get paid more than 15 an hour then what's the incentive to sell more than 8 dances? There isn't any.
