a little music help please
I like to dance to dark/gotic/rock music but one of the djs at my club keeps telling me my music is too slow. Then he plays something that I don't know or something really fast.I am a slow to modate pace dancer and even though I like it, it's hard for me to keep up with Jesus built my hotrod pace every song.Does anyone have any suggestions for new music? Also I am in a club where overly "wierd" dosen't fly.
Re: a little music help please
There are some Tool/NIN songs that are pretty fast paced.

Don't know what kind of club cuts there are or how they'd go over...
Re: a little music help please
Lacuna Coil maybe? Our Truth or Swamped. Not real slow, not super fast.

Lacuna Coil is considered too slow.I already dance to NIN,what Tool they will allow,a perfect circle, marilyn manson, but it gets boring. The problem is I just don't know what he's looking for.I only have the problem with one dj.The other two play me whatever I want.
Re: a little music help please
Try Sirenia - The Path To Decay (try and find the version with the shorter intro)
Re: a little music help please
Yeah I was going to say Tool maybe. There are some Crystal Method songs that are slower but very powerful. Vapor Trail, Tough Guy, and several others. Some Rob or White Zombie songs as well. A lot of remixes are good for this too, somme are slowed down and if they are done well everybody is happy. Some remixes suck of course, you have to be careful.
Also a suggestion--I have worked with a lot of dancers that only move to the back beat or whatever, they can dance slow to certain kinds of fast music and it looks great! Some of them only dance that way too, it's funny. Maybe you could experiment with this? OTOH if it's just the one DJ maybe more effort than it's worth.
I know I feel bad when I have to make them all dance to fast music between 9:30PM--2:30-3AM, but I don't have a choice. Also unfortunately if you make an exception for a dancer that can pull it off (and some sure can!), then all the others demand slow shit as well and you're fucked. ;D

Re: a little music help please
Why not the Cure? "Fascination street" is slow and dark.
Re: a little music help please
U2 - Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
I never realized how fucking amazing and sexy this song is, but I just go crazy when I dance to it. The ending has this breathing moaning orgasmic sound that just, I can't help but get into it. And it's got a very gothic sound to it so try it out!
