few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
mmkay! so i read ALOT the last few days. between here and another forum, and studying at borders, and watching you-tubes....i think im finally ready to go thru with auditioning..
my first time EVER even stepping foot into a club, last week...i didnt know quite how they worked, let alone how auditions work..so i dragged my gf down there, who was obviously jealous off top, or just an asshole by nature, who fell asleep on purpose, talked shit about all the girls that went up (i thought were all very good but didnt have much to compare them to) and basically scared me into auditioning, which im kinda glad cuz i wasnt ready then. so anyway, we stayed and observed, i watch the other girls, and how they moved, and scoped the scene out.. it was a tuesday and it was pretty empty, everyone was spread out. the place was SOOOO nice.. (i had did a review search on yelp.com so i knew it was not gonna be hella grimey) its a topless club in frisco...Hustler club. all the girls trying out were very cute, clean looking, healthy and natural/small breasted which made me feel good.. cuz im a perky 36 b.. and they all seemed to have a very sexy/ non sleazy/ sensual flow..which sealed the deal for me cuz i thought i was gonna have to compete with some ass clappers or stunts i couldnt.woudnt do. ..the manager was hella nice, gave me his card and didnt make me feel too stupid when i asked about auditioning....
my questions arrrreee:
what if ur first night goes bad? do u just come back? or what if u audtion and do well but u fuck up the first or second night...does the management come n tell u not to come back? do they give u a second chance? or can u come back when u thnk ur better?
can u pay / flirt wit the dj to get him to play ur cd/ tracks or genre so u wont look stupid?
(i been looking/ downloading/ practicing all these slower sensual songs i think i might flow best to)
can u come whenever u want? set ur own schedule? do they give u a set schedule?
can u just leave when u want to? i know it varies with most clubs but if ur good and theres enough time, can u work the same night as ur audition? can u take breaks and vacations if u want and show up weeks later like "HEYYY i wanna work again!"
how long did it take for u guys to start doing pole work? some of the girls i seen audition were HELLA good. and some didnt use it at all.. some used it and seemed to do all the crazy shit u would learn in a class, but not gracefully... is it ok if it takes me a while or a few weeks to not do so much pole work? n just do basic twirling, and floor work?
for ur first night, can u audition or work in a regular black thong? or are they gonna notice n say u need to get a legal one before u work??
holding on to ur money..... and not looking too tacky in a nice upscale club, is it safe to do the whole garter/rubber band technique? or will it look bad to the other girls if they see ur garter with a fat ass wad of money strapped to u? i wanna be hella discreet about how much i make/dont make...but still never trust it out of my site. is there another way to do it without looking like ur flaunting it?
oh yea, i signed up with this pole studio for unlimited month after my first class, it was so damn fun! they had a storefront with all the dancewear/ shoes n of course i went crazy.. i bought a pair of hella cute clear shoes with birch wood platforms.. on sale for 20! my only deal is... they are a size 10 and im a 9.. the heel has a LITTTLLLE space in the back...but theres straps so i dont know how bad theyre going to look. the instructor told me if i get the gel inserts itll pull my feet back a tad, so it doesnt look as bad.. but does anyone know how comfortable its gonna be with the inserts?
whew! im sorry this shit is hella long!! ;[ DM's and replies are appreciated ..shit, ANY answers will help. thanks in advance for the support ;]
btw, i plan on doin all my homework first and taking advantage of this unlimited studio time this month, and auditioning in the begin of nov, but im afraid ill chicken out if i wait that long. im just tryna be prepared. should i just do it now n hope they hire me??? yeeek my mind is spinnin!!
;D:-\:-*:-[

What do you mean fuck up? It's difficult to get fired from a strip club, you have to do something like murder a manager. They will definitely let you know if you do something wrong though. Your first night will definitely be an experience, and you need to give it at LEAST a month before you can decide if this job is for you or not, there is definitely a learning curve. I doubt they'll tell you not to come back!
can u pay / flirt wit the dj to get him to play ur cd/ tracks or genre so u wont look stupid?
(i been looking/ downloading/ practicing all these slower sensual songs i think i might flow best to)
He should play them without you having to flirt with him, it's his job. Just talk to him or bring in a cd of the songs if you want to be extra sure. At the end of the night, you tip the DJ, and that amount is different at different clubs, the management should explain all of this to you. I wouldn't flirt with ANY STAFF at the club though, treat them professionally like you would at any other job.
can u come whenever u want? set ur own schedule? do they give u a set schedule?
can u just leave when u want to? i know it varies with most clubs but if ur good and theres enough time, can u work the same night as ur audition? can u take breaks and vacations if u want and show up weeks later like "HEYYY i wanna work again!
This is different everywhere. In Dallas, usually you have to work a mandatory night, at least a Sat., Sun, or Mon. Some girls are hired specifically as day shift dancers, etc. I've always been able to work the same night as my audition. I work nights, so that pretty much gives me free reign over any shift. There IS a cut off time though, you have to be on the floor by 11. Yes, you can take breaks and vacations, just let the manager know beforehand.
how long did it take for u guys to start doing pole work? some of the girls i seen audition were HELLA good. and some didnt use it at all.. some used it and seemed to do all the crazy shit u would learn in a class, but not gracefully... is it ok if it takes me a while or a few weeks to not do so much pole work? n just do basic twirling, and floor work?
I have been dancing about five years, and I still don't do pole work. BUT, nobody really does at my club so.... I would just take some classes on the side if you want to learn, but doing pole tricks is not where the real money is, just FYI.
for ur first night, can u audition or work in a regular black thong? or are they gonna notice n say u need to get a legal one before u work??
You NEED a legal one before you ever take off your clothes!
holding on to ur money..... and not looking too tacky in a nice upscale club, is it safe to do the whole garter/rubber band technique? or will it look bad to the other girls if they see ur garter with a fat ass wad of money strapped to u? i wanna be hella discreet about how much i make/dont make...but still never trust it out of my site. is there another way to do it without looking like ur flaunting it?
Carry a small wristlet or purse, thats what I do. Or, you could sew hidden pockets onto your outfit if you really wanted to.
oh yea, i signed up with this pole studio for unlimited month after my first class, it was so damn fun! they had a storefront with all the dancewear/ shoes n of course i went crazy.. i bought a pair of hella cute clear shoes with birch wood platforms.. on sale for 20! my only deal is... they are a size 10 and im a 9.. the heel has a LITTTLLLE space in the back...but theres straps so i dont know how bad theyre going to look. the instructor told me if i get the gel inserts itll pull my feet back a tad, so it doesnt look as bad.. but does anyone know how comfortable its gonna be with the inserts?
I've never used inserts, and I've never met a dancer that did, but I would be very careful finding a shoe that fits perfectly. After all, you're going to be on your feet all night!
Don't stress so much, I remember how stressed I was, and I laugh thinking back on it. We ALL came into this industry feeling the same way, but you definitely want to be somewhat prepared, so I would wait until you have more confidence. Also, you can always post some pictures for honest opinions about anything!
Good Luck!

This is one of the coolest things about the job. You can literally leave half dressed, shooting off your middle finger yelling about how you're too good for this and then come back in the next day with you're tail between your legs. I think management accepts the fact that they work with crazy bitches. :D its a good thing
You seem to have all the info and tools you need to get out there and get hired.
I don't know the standards of the Hustler. But since you were in there a few nights ago, how do you think you measured up to the girls you saw working (honestly think about it for a second)
I don't think you should have a problem. Good luck!
-
Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
I think you look great! In which city will you be dancing? I can give you a better idea about hiring standards knowing that. I really don't think you will have a problem getting hired though, just dress classy going in. Most of the time, managers like it when girls dress more feminine and glamorous (dresses, jewelry, etc.), versus over the top stripperfied (hot pink glitter neon crazy outfits, etc). You can always find your style later, but play it safe when you audition.

hmmm well being that i went with a gf who was begging me to go the whole time, i only stayed from 7-8:45 which 7-9 was auditions so i really only seen the new girls and i DEF think i can be amongst them.... if thats what id be going against. def. the girls that auditioned were verry very good.. im pretty sure most or some were hired... but then again, are the regular girls gonna be like....... CRAZY gorgeous? blah. im thinkin too much.
-
Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
i guess being gorgeous has little to do with everything else. im confident, ok lookin, and got natural boobs like the other ones did, so i guess yea, i can measure up to the other ones. cant do pole stuff yet, im gonna play it reeeealll safe ;[

This is me at least once a week. I throw tantrums during which I loudly cause a scene and inform everyone that "I quit!" and I'm never coming back and they can all fuck themselves! I'm usually back within a few days and they'll be laughing at me :(
-
Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
oh yea, its in SF bay area. the gold club and hustler club are supposed to be the nicest/classiest ones in frisco

Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
maybe some girls from SF will chime in, all I know is that it's a hardcore hustling city, you have to be on your A game!
-
Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
well i guess theres only one way to find out! im DAMN sure not gonna lower myself to the raggedy meth infested clubs just cuz im not as hot as the regulars in the nice club. u gotta start somewhere, but it for fucking sure wont be less than what i think im worth.
-
Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
For the record, most of us did not start out so hot, your looks change by being a dancer, you'll become way hotter (and you're already pretty hot starting out!)
From what I've heard, Gold Club and Hustler are THE only two clubs worth working at in SF.

Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
Sooooo here's my new dillema!! I work on a bakery and I got burnt pretty bad last week, now it's all scabby and ugly :( I wanna audition tomorrow, can I get away with putting some makeup on it just until it heals n looks better??? Or is it not worth auditioning until it heals? The place isbtwally upscale
-
Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
Oh yea Its on my elbow kinda :( I'll be able to post pics when I get off, I
I'm only rushing this cuz I really need the money and I wanna hurry up b get this over with before I chicken out

I have yet to do this, although I have been tempted to quite a few times. I dont think it will get me fired considering a girl hysterically complained to management to find her missing mushrooms and vicadin once was allowed back :(. Maybe one of these days I will do this }:D. It will make for an awkward next work day though lol...
to the op: just go for it. worst that can happen is they say no. An interesting thing about psychology: long term people tend to regret the things they did not do over the things they did do. So give it a whirl... you should be fine!

Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]

--Bring money with you your first night in case you don't make any and you have to pay house fees. Use it as a trial night, and get acclimated to the whole scene.. If you do mess up the management will let you know what you did wrong and then you can just do better. There are girls that do this at my club... They always cause a scene but then they always come back!

Doesn't have TIME to accept it?... Come on. Bottom line, he doesn't want you to dance. Can't handle it.
Get used to this b/c this is how it will be with men if you do decide to dance.
They can't handle it and they will always try to control you. It takes a strong man to deal with it and they are very hard to find.
Good luck girl. Just do whats best for YOU. either way, that's most important.

Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
k, here i go with my NEW n Updated dilemma: (without tryna bitch or whine)
my fiance and i spoke, and i listen to him pour his heart out , hes fine now that we talked, he just wanned to know that his feelings/concerns mattered- and they do. .... PROBLEM #2- SOLVED
SO i get a call from the credit card company and long story short, i owe 300 by the 15th. that means in 5ish days, i need cash- FAST. so my need to strip is even more urgent now.... but im struggling with the idea that i might not make that back in time if i go audition tuesday... its about $40 in traveling, plus a legal thong/ outfit $20 and cover to get IN the club $20.. so a $80 dollar trip i really cant afford. its a risk, but i keep thinking, what if i get hired and make a couple hundred, then itll all be worth it..but then the downside and probably more realistic side is that ill audition and get hired, but wont be able to pay to keep going back and forth + house fee - that defeats the whole purpose of working.
blahhhh
how often at Nicer clubs do they hire girls and let them work on the same day?
is it safe to say the house fee would be around 100?
is it realistic to say i might make at least 100 on my first night? (even that wont take care of my expenses)
i asked the first two questions to the guy on the phone n he said he couldnt tell me SHIT
goddamn, this is not supposed to be this stressful....
-
Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
oh yea, and i wanned to thank everyone whos been tuning into Goldi's stripper heartbreak thread. lol no really, i 'ppreciate all the support/criticism/push u ladies have been giving me. its prolly more than any of my gf's woulda done.

Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
Your gorgeous and Im sure you could have the pick of any club you wanted to work at.
1) Keep your head up and move slow and sensual. Watch what the other girls do and you'll get the idea. You arent expected to do crazy tricks. If there is some down time, you can ask one of the girls to show you some moves. Management is not going to say "you are a bad dancer dont come back."
2) You dont have to flirt with the dj. But it may help if you tip out before your shift to get in good with him. Usually $10. I give a little more if they have to go the extra mile and download my music.
3)All clubs are different about scheduling but most are laid back because alot of dancers have other jobs. If you dont set a schedule, there are usually required days (Sunday or Monday usually) for you to be able to work the rest of the week. I have taken 2 weeks off without a word and showed up on a required day and nobody said anything beside "Good to have you back"
4)Pole work is not important. It will impress the young guys with no money though. They may make it rain on you. But to target the older crowd (who usually spend more), leaning against the pole, grinding slowly, laying on your back and arching will impress them. I do not get up on the pole at all and I make more money than alot of girls who do crazy tricks on them and rarely have their feet on the floor during stage.
5)You have to work in a legal thong. You can buy one from the house mom usually
6) Its fine to keep money in your garter or g string. But once it gets to be a big wad, its safer to have it with the house mom in an envelope or in your locker. You dont want money falling out or people grabbing money out of your g string in a busy club.
7) I have never used inserts or known anybody that does. Pick some good shoes and practice wearing them at home and walking sexy in them at home. You will get blisters. Sometimes I wear mole skin/band aids and usually wrap tape around that.
On your first day I wouldnt worry too much about being "good". Men are not as judgemental as women. What you think is lame they will think is awesome as long as your top is off. So just have fun and dont worry about how well you do on your first day because ITS YOUR FIRST DAY. :)
BTW Im not to far from Frisco. Where did you get those pictures done? Iv been wanting to do some pictures like that for the hell of it!
-
Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
Oh and stay sober. And dont broadcast to guys that you are new. They will think they can take advantage of the situation. Dont let guys waste your time. Spend at a maximum 3 songs with them. Then say something like "Oh I can tell your ready for a dance" "Enough talk, its time to get the real fun started/its time to play"
When greeting them say "You wouldnt mind if I sat down would you" "Are we celebrating today?" "Your here to start the weekend off right huh?"
Get in good with the waitresses and tip them if they bring you over to a guy who buys dances. My first day at a club I usually put all my effort into getting in good with the support staff (The dj, waitresses, and security) They know the people who are there to spend money and if they like you and you tip fairly, they will call you over or recommend you first.
When you are onstage, make eye contact with the customers and smile or wink. You want to create a special moment that seems just for them.
If a guy comes up to the stage that is sitting with a group, they are there to have fun as well as look at beautiful women. So to get in good with the whole group I will glance over at his friends mischieveously while I give there friend a spank on the butt. After I get off stage the whole group is usually happy to see me and invite me into the conversation more easily.

Re: few specific questions. nervous but READY. ;]
damn ^^ thanks. a whole fuckin lot. thats some good sturdy advice... i cant wait til i can use it- VERY SOON ;]
i just got home from the pole studio and after being in there more n more, im beginning to be so much more comfortable around the pole, on the hard floor, and in my heels in general. im learning to walk a little more gracefully and i can damn sure work the hell outta my hips.. i been practicing on the pole but i kinda figured that the real money isnt being good on the pole .. so im glad cuz i been learning to incorporate it without being ON it really.. ;] even tho i wish to atleast be as graceful n sexy as this chick with being sensual @ simple pole work http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmFq-...eature=related
so i decided... tuesday is the mufuckin day. ;]
