advice on staying entertaining/tips/name?!
So my amateur night is coming up in a week and I just need some tips. I am required to stay on stage for three songs, what sort of moves could I use to make it interesting and not so repetitive? I need a whole arsenal of moves up there if I don't want the audience to get bored. Also, I have to pick a stage name and I was advised to play up my Asian heritage because apparently in Canada there are very few Asian dancers. I was thinking Kami Kaze? I just thought it was funny haha. Any other tips? Anything would be seriously appreciated!
xoxo
Re: advice on staying entertaining/tips/name?!
I like the name you've chosen :) It's got a bit of humor but fits.
When I did AN I did a lot of ass moves :p Shake it, swirl it, twirl it, dip it, bump it, slap it, grab it, shove it in their faces and make them like it. Don't worry too much about being repetitive.. It happens and it's not always a bad thing... If it works, of course they'd want to see it again :)
I personally throw in belly dancing moves when I can't think of anything else. I'm built similarly to Shakira and can move my hips in interesting ways, so that's sorta my "thing" when I'm up there. Everyone has their "thing" it just takes a little while to find it for some.
One thing I can't stress enough is SMILE!! A lot!! Make it look like you are having the time of your life up there. I really feel like this can make a mediocre dance a great one.

this is good advice.
although dance clubs are a lot different from strip clubs haven't you ever seen a girl at a dance club who can't move worth shit, but is having so much fun you end up liking her or think she's beyonce?
i always find that i'm the most approachable when i'm dancing my ass off (and i'm no beyonce) and having a blast. i'm not saying get drunk and do the hands in the air thing, but you can only do what you can do, so work what you got. ;)
