Your Favorite Facial Masks
I am a complete and total sucker for facial masks. No matter what it claims to do, I'll buy it, and a lot of the time they don't actually do diddly squat. So I thought I'd start this thread and get some recommendations for facial masks that actually do something.
My favorites:
Caudalie Purifying Mask (for acne and blackheads). Works great, especially if you apply the Caudalie Vinopure Purifying Concentrate oil underneath it.
ProActiv Refining Mask. The only ProActiv product that both cleans up my acne and doesn't dry my skin out.
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
I bought some real mud straight from the Dead Sea (a bought when I went to the Dead Sea, so it's not that knock off stuff at the mall kiosks) I can't wait to try it, it can be used on the entire body and I bought a big tub of it. I'll let you know how it works out!
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
I have the grey clay stuff that I use with apple cider vinegar, after seeing it suggested on this board. It cleans out my pores like crazy.
JD- is that you in your avatar? Gorgeous!!
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
Lush Cupcake mask-my favorite of all time!! Smells like a Peppermint Patty and does a great job of removing excess oil and calming breakouts. Lush for life :)
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
DDF SULFUR MASK is the mask that I ever used, that cleans out your pores really well and leaves my face soft and non oily.
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
aztec secret is pretty good, but my favorite is the redmond clay my mom got me in utah. Its awesome.
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
queene helene mint julep face mask, sold at walgreens
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
^^^^ I've actually heard good things about that
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
My favorite mask is a homemade mask that I make. It has unsweetened cocoa powder, kaolin clay, jojoba oil, honey, and tea tree oil. Great for tightening and acne fighting.
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
+1 on the Queen Helene...I like to dab it on spots and leave it overnight, it helps them shrink faster. Plus you really can't beat $3 a tube. Walgreens even had it buy one, get one free not too long ago!
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
Just got an amazing sample from the local skincare/cosmetic boutique I frequent. B. Kamins Chemist Diatomamus Earth Masque. Clears up acne, tightens, and it smells like cinnamon toast. I'm going to buy the product tomorrow.
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
The white tea enriching mask from Neal's Yard. It's an english company and I buy a jar every time I head to london. Don't know if they ship to the states. It's a bit expensive depending on the exchange rate, currently about 35 bucks, but one jar does last me a while.
I love this mask. It's soothes my skin never irritates it. Moisturizing but never greasy. Can't rave about it enough. :)
Any of you in london or going to london... I highly recommend!
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
queen helen mint julep
Lush fresh masks-- all of them! esp oatfix!
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
I'm kind of a product snob, but I agree with the other two that Queen Helene Mint Julep mask works wonders. Regardless of price you can't argue with a great mask!
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
Milk of Magnesia (Philip's laxative). I slather it on with a cottonball and let it sit until it dries into a white powdery film. I'm left with a matte complexion, reduced redness and tighter looking pores. I find it excellent for my oily skin.
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
hey JD how's the mask working out ? did you get it from one of those mall booths ?
Re: Your Favorite Facial Masks
^^^^ Hell no! I bought this in Jordan, AT the Dead Sea. I don't know, those mall booth ones are so shady to me. I like it. It's a tub of straight mud packaged right there, scooped out of the Dead Sea. It kind of burns when you put it on because it's so salty, but it's awesome! Your skin is unbelievably soft after you rinse it off, I put it all over my entire body! The only negative is that you smell like an aquarium afterwards!
