OH MY FUCKING GAWD!! I KNOW THAT GUY. He is the owner of Penthouse, formerly Caligula, in Houston. He was cool, and always had my back. But I'v forgotten the name he went by.
Now why doesn't this surprise me. ::)
There was an SC named Caligula? That's awesome!
...there was a club in Dallas called Caligula too but it burned down. This news is about a month or so old. It was odd to see the news station out him. then just as fast, there was no more news about him or his club.
His club, penthouse, was shut down by a judge under the "nuisance law". Which means vice paid it many visits and arrests which eventually allowed the city to convince a judge to close it down for one year. I think it opened last month as a bikini bar, i think. Oddly every other club was not "targeted so much". I think the city is testing the law before trying it on other clubs. Again, odd, because you can find the same degree of law breakers in any other club in town.
Umm, yeah, I read the fucking article dude. I think we all called him Vince.
This guy owned Caligula in Dallas? I thought it was owned by the Rizos family who owns the Lodge now.
No this guy did not own caligula in Dallas. You are correct Rizzo owned it in Dallas which did burn down a long time ago. This criminal in the article owned Caligula in Houston.
It doesn't matter what club he owned under what name or what city.
SC ownership is freaking in-breeding at it's best.
Google "in-breeding" and it'll have a picture of a SC and some owners, ex-partners, ex-partners that own the sister club, partners who left came back, left, bought another club then signed a marketing agreement with the original club, future partners and other relatives. 8)
So true, Cali. Especially in Houston, there are "groups" of owners, management, bartenders, DJs, and dancers, that all circulate through various clubs at various times of turnover.
This guy use to own a NYC club called Wiggles in Rego Park Queens in the mid-1990's.
