Re: Dancing and Stage Sets
At my club the managers, counter, and DJ all communicate so if you're doing a private dance for a customer you won't be called to the stage. Don't stress out. I'm sure it will all be taken care of for you.
Good luck at your audition!
Re: Dancing and Stage Sets
I've never worked anywhere that called you out of CRs for stage. *_*
Re: Dancing and Stage Sets
Most clubs will automatically take you off the rotation when a customer buys a bottle of champagne. Some clubs tack on a surcharge to the customer even though he just dropped hundreds of dollars on a bottle, and one club I worked at in South Dakota made you go onstage even if you sold a room because they only booked 7-10 dancers/night.
If you are just doing lap dances in a private room, you will most likely have to go up on stage.
Re: Dancing and Stage Sets
If I'm making money for the club (and we do make more money for the club by doing LD's and CR's), then the DJ/staff is generally more than happy to take of me off of rotation (even though I work at a small club).
Re: Dancing and Stage Sets
if im in the CR or VIP theyll take me off rotation, but only if im IN either. if im not, and im in the process, or still on the floor but getting beaver bucks or whatever, i technically still have to go on.
Re: Dancing and Stage Sets
I think it depends if your club takes from each dance or not.
I will never get called onstage if I'm dancing because my club makes $8/9 a minute I am doing a lapdance, VIP or not, and every employee gets tipped .50$ a minute I am doing a lapdance... Nobody makes shit if I'm onstage.
If your club isn't taking from each dance, then I imagine they would call you onstage if they needed girls.
Re: Dancing and Stage Sets
audrey_k has got it right--because, of course, if the club is making money off you doing lap dances, then why the hell would they voluntarily lose money by sticking you onstage? It doesn't make any sense, especially since the club is ALWAYS more concerned with making money than entertaining their customers. Always.
It's gotten to the point where, at my club, I don't go onstage, or not if I can help it. Granted, I tip the DJ so I don't have to go through the pain of wasting 5 mins on a stage where no one is tipping, but I do make an exception IF there are lots of guys tipping lots of money OR if I have taken a break and I wanna come back into a room with a ton of new customers who don't know I'm working or haven't seen me on the floor. It's a nice way to say "hey I'm here and buy dances from me". But other than that, at my club, hardly anyone tips onstage and it's ENTIRELY a dance club--over 90% of our income is from dances, so why waste time onstage? It's just simply taking away from my floor time and in doing so, taking away from my hustle time.
There is NOTHING more annoying that sitting with a customer, about to close a sale, and then being called onstage to dance for the 2 other customers in the club, both of which aren't even sitting on the rail and both of which haven't bought a drink/dance OR tipped in the last 3 hours. I can't handle it! If, for some reason, my extra tip money isn't enough from keeping the DJ from putting me up and I AM called up in a situaion like this, I honestly ignore them. I continue to close my sale, and then just go to the lapdance room. I WILL NEVER walk away from a potiental lapdance sale to do a shitty stage set for no money. If I somehow can't get a sale and I'm forced to go up to dance for nothing, then I definately don't get naked and most likely stand by the pole, tapping my fingers and staring off into space. I don't even bother to "dance" or even move, unless I get yelled at by my manager.
I've even spoken with my club about this, since they know I hustle, and they know if I'm sitting with a customer I'm working, and for the most part they are ok with me going onstage whenever I feel like it vs. being on rotation. One manager is a dick about it--and I tip him nothing accordingly. I just REFUSE to get naked for free when I could be hustling the floor! I understand the point of going onstage--to let customers see you--but when it's slow and there are 3 customers who have been there for 3 hours and have seen every girl there at least once, it's really quite pointless. I hate it when I get yelled at for not going up or for not dancing for free. It's so fucking stupid.
Lastly, my final issue with dancing when no one is tipping is this: if you make girls dance when there are guys there but they aren't tipping, you are ENCOURAGING men to come in and watch for free. I've talked to sooo many guys who come in and see an empty stage and say "where are the girls? I came here to watch free tits." URGH! These type of customers usually cut the coupon for free entry out of the LA Weekly and come by once a week, don't buy a drink/dance and don't tip onstage and just sit and watch for free. Is this REALLY the type of customer that we want in our clubs? C'mon people!
Sorry to rant about this, but this topic has been coming up a lot lately, and I've been dealing with my management about it a lot and it's really something that passionately bothers me, lol.

Same. They skip you in the rotation bc they'll know where you are.

You don't get in major trouble for just standing up there? That isn't a fireable offense? I am just curious. I would be afraid of getting in big trouble. lol.
Re: Dancing and Stage Sets
lol shit, i would be so scared of just 'standing there' my manager would kick me out FAST
Re: Dancing and Stage Sets
A variation of this--sometimes I'll just sit at the top of the pole like a koala (if it's clear that no one from the bar is going to venture over, or if we're so dead that there's no point in dancing). Usually I'll start dancing again out of pure boredom, however.
