I use Bare Minerals Mineral Veil at home to set the foundation. I keep this nifty little pressed powder in my purse and use it every couple of hours. It gives an airbrushed look even if you are really oily.

It's good to see you back on the boards, Jess!
I heard, and I'm and glad you are better.
Yes I use Bare Minerals foundation. I use the veil under and over it and go through it like water. I think it would work well with any other foundation. The Balm powder was a pretty recent discovery. I was walking around Salem, MA and my face was really shiny. I didn't want to go back to the hotel room before dinner so i stopped at like this little makeup store and the girl in there used it on me and i fell in love with it. They apparently sell it at Sephora too. I want to try their foundation. What kind do you use?
I love PALLADIO herbal dual wet & dry foundation. I buy it at Sally's Beauty Supply. Best powder ever! ;D
Undressjess - Happy to hear your feeling better.
I give Bare Minerals products a +1 for sure. They are bit pricey but they do their job nicely.
I also like different compacts by Maybelline, so check them out too.
I use that new maybeline 24/7 foundation but i seriously have one of every foundation on the market because I love trying new stuff. I really like bare minerals but find it sort of tiresome to deal with all the buffing and what not, plus I like liquid more now becasue my skin is getting drying and drying so I mix the maybeline foundation with a spf anti-aging moisturizer and I like the way it applies!
Mac studio fix powder + Mac blot powder<3
Tarte has an awesome pressed powder compact, and it's the tiniest one I've seen. It's so thin I can put it in my Coach wristlet I use at work, no problem. Tarte also makes a great travel kabuki brush with a nifty little case that I use with it. It doesn't fit into that wristlet too well, though...of course, the wristlet is pretty much flat, so not much looks good in there.
I like Lancome's Translucent Pressed Powder for touch-up's as well as MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus (I have medium skin with cool undertones). The latter is more difficult to carry around but I use it for work and keep it in my train case. Gives me a fresh, dewy (not shimmery/sparkly) look.
i LOVE bare minerals and it kind of defeats the purpose but, mac studiofix powder on top if i want to look airbrushed.
however, since i am currently not working i tried out the maybelline dream matte mousse covered with loreal bare naturale and carry the dream matte mousse powder with me for touch ups. verrrrrrry nice and comparable! i just have to make sure i wash it off really well at night!
I also vouch for bare minerals. its like the only stuff that doesnt make me break out. Although i dont like their matte line, after i run out im going back to the old foundation-- that stuff made my skin look flawless.
Bare minerals also has some fun types of mineral veils. it has illuminating mineral veil, which is kinda light reflecting, and feather light, which is ultra light reflecting. They look great under the club lights IMO-- they make my skin look really dewey and highlight my bone structure.
My powder is MAC mineralize skinfinish natural.
NARS POWDER FOUNDATION is my fave.
I use MAC's Studio Fix Powder Foundation. It covers well but still looks natural. Before it, I was addicted to liquid foundation, but now I don't need it and my skin looks much healthier.
MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation. It covers really well and doesn't make me look like a cake face either. I use a kabuki brush to put it on. I have used it for about two years now and nothing else compares. And it lasts me two to three months until I have to buy a new compact.
I'm also a big fan of the Mac studio finish. Besides stripping I'm also a motorcycle rider, and the helmets along with high wind and dust can really murder your make-up. The Mac is easy and holds up a million times better than Bare Minerals, which is what I swore by before.
I'm going to get that herbal powder next time I'm in Sally's though now. I love that line so it'd be great if they had it in my light ivory shade. Thanks for the tip. :)
Ugh, MAC gives me horrible breakouts. I could use them pre-lauder, but once EL got their hands on them...... yuck. ( No offense to those that use it).
I LOVEEEEE Sue Devitt powders and Make Up For Ever. SO awesome, great ingredients and beautiful coverage. Great color selection, too. When I spray tan I am a normal color and when I'm natural I'm crazy white, and I can find my color in both of their lines. Mac is always too yellow or too pink.
For drugstore, the L'oreal bare naturale one is great. I also tried the true match cream foundation and really liked it.
MAC Studio Fix.
If you apply like any other foundation though, it ends up looking like a mask, so invest in a good brush for application and throw out the sponge unless your goal is infact to look like you're wearing a mask.
