is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
if guys want to send monetary gifts, like for financial dom and stuff... is paypal a safe route to go? Is there some way they can get your personal info (aside from your email addy obviously) off paypal? I dont really know anything about paypal, Ive never used it before and just set up an ccount.
Would it be safer to get a PO box?

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
You have to have a physical address with paypal to use their full features (like being able to take out cash). There are also fees involved. I don't remember exactly how much the fees are, but it was enough for me to switch to direct deposit in some cases.
As far as safety goes, do you mean that you can remain anonymous? Yes, you absolutely can. Just get a business account w/ paypal. Just don't say that you are using it for adult entertainment, they have banned that kind of activity and you will lose your money.
I wouldn't recommend paypal for anything aside from using it for payment to purchase things from ebay. They just take too much in fees to be worth while.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
Yeah I am meaning to remain anonymous. Basically what happened is one of my webcam slave boys wants to also work on webcam doing gay/submissive stuff and then give me all the money he makes doing it. I don't expect much from it but if he's serious it might be a little extra money for me and hell, if it makes him happy doing it all for the better... I just need a way for him to get me the money without giving away my name, address, etc.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
I think it might be easier to get a wishlist on amazon.com and send it to him. And epassport has a $$ sending option but I've never used it before.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
^ You know ......... I've never thought about doing that wishlist thing on Amazon.
I never felt comfortable using paypal because it is linked to my personal checking account. I just felt like the customer might be able to get my info somehow. I guess I could set up a different account under a business name, but I only do occasional panty sales, so I may try the amazon route and just have my panty guy send gifts instead.
So ..... is your adress totally safe on Amazon if you use your real address ? I guess a p.o. box would be the safer bet.
Did you know Amazon sells Lush products ? I'm totally building a list today and trading panties for a batch of Lush.

Depends. Because Amazon is a middle man site you have to verify the company you're requesting the item from rules about listing addresses. You know like gift registeries. Example if it says the item is from Target or other major retailor I think it's safe because Target offers gift registeries and the law says they can't list addresses of gift recipents. Gosh I hope I explained this clearly! *Going to read Amazon's rules and regulations on wishlist*
*Back* Amazon gives the option weather you want your address listed or not and if the item comes from another retailor other than Amazon they have to provide your email address inorder to buy it. ***They also have a keep it a secret (don't spoil my surprise option) where it doesn't show up that it's been brought unless you or someone else tries to buy it again that I thought was just precious.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
You just created your first Wish List.
Your new list is public.
That means your friends and family can now search for your list and find out what you really want.
Please select a confidential address where you'd like your gifts to be sent:
^ THIS IS COPIED FROM AMAZON. It does say your address is confidential.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
Interesting. Picking out cute underwear or clothes or perfume on amazon.com and having him buy me those things with his camming money might be a better option that just having him give me the money. Especially if he could see me wearing the stuff he worked for on cam. Good idea guys thanks!

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
I may research this further by buying myself a gift and seeing if I can get my personal info by calling in. I feel pretty safe about it though. It does say " confidential". I think it adds a fun element to it too. My list has bath stuff, chocolates, and other decadent items, so it will be fun to receive them and thank him for the specific stuff.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
If it's confidential, what do they see when they visit the page? It doesn't say "Kim Smith's wish list" or anything like that? I guess I will set one up and have one of my friends look at it and see what info they can get off it.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
Another option... get a PO Box and have him send you pre-paid Visa Gift Cards.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
Ms: I used my stripper email and Name. You wouldn't want to use your real name of course.
PM me and I'll send you my list if you want to investigate further. I did poke around to see if they might be able to pull my address or something and it seemed pretty secure.
Kylea: Thanks for that suggestion. It seems so simple, but just didn't occur to me to do that.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
Well now I have another problem. Amazon.com wont let me log off and create a new account! I log off my main amazon.com account and it takes me to that screen you log in where it says returning customer? NEw customer? I click new customer and all it does is refresh the screen. So until they fix whatever problem they have going on I can't make a new account. :-\ Annoying.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
I logged out and did a search for my wishlist and it showed my REAL name, my city and state! I don't like that at all. If I change my name to my stage name will I still receive my gifts?
-
Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
This is what I've trying to figure out. It's NOT anonymous it definitely does show all your info. How to make an anonymous one I'm not sure. Because like you said, if you use a fake name how will it get mailed to you?!

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
I was told as long as its sent to your house you can use an ailias. Picking it up at the Post Office requires an ID. But its still going to show your city and state.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
Hmmmmm.... okay... so they would know our city and state. No that definitely doesn't seem good to me. Grrr.... why the hell can't you turn that off somehow?

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
Since you already have a PayPal account, you can ask for Green Dot Money Pak's.
Here's Green Dot's website:
Here's how it works. A person can go to places like CVS or Walmart and pick up whats called a Green Dot Money Pak. They're in the section with all the giftcards. They'll take the card to the checkout and tell the clerk how much they'd like to add to the card. It can be anywhere from $20 to $500. To redeem the Money Pak you'll need the confirmation number from the sender. Log into your PayPal account and enter the Money Pak number. Then you'll have your money without having to share your PayPal email address, your real name or your mailing address!
It may be slightly inconvenient in the sense that the sender has to go to a store to purchase a Money Pak, but at least they won't have any of your details.
Hope that helps.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
On mine, I don't think it showed anything ! The only real info I used is my address. The name is my stripper name and the email is my stripper email. It said " confidential " . I poked around and didn't see any of my info come up. I also did a search with my stripper email my address didn't come up.
I also know of this blogger ( not a stripper, more of a political ranter ) who accepted gifts this way.
Are you sure you guys are using BOTH your dancer name and dancer email ? The only correct info should be your address.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
YOU ARE RIGHT ! Amazon DOES show your city and state to any viewer. BUT .... if you live in a big city .... I don't really think that's a deal breaker. It would be up to your comfort level of course.
-
Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
It's too bad you can't just let them see the state or nothing address related.
-
Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
Yeah... I tell my clients I'm from NY and don't really want them finding out I actually live in North Carolina....
The money card thing is a possibility.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
Everybody has a mailing address, some people have a permanent address, too. Are you able to get maybe a PO box someplace as an alternative? It might be worth the small rental fee for the box to protect your personal address information.
That Greendot thing seems legit, however. I'll have to look for those at the Walmart in my area.

Re: is it safe to give someone your paypal info?
You can have him buy an Amazon gift certificate at one of the Coinstar machines (there's a ton of these nationwide in grocery stores and such, and a machine locater on their website). All your customer has to do is put cash in the machine, collect the printed paper slip, and then tell you the code that's on the paper. Then you redeem it on Amazon.com and can put in whatever name and address you want.
Coinstar Locate a machine
This way, you can avoid the wishlist and email connection.
