I did it...and I was fine!
OMG, it wasn't even that bad haha. I just wore a sheer top and bottom and my highest shoes...some of the girls didn't even wear platforms! I was glad that I had broken in my leather shoes because it made all the difference. The day shift was sloooow, but I made $70 and hopefully a regular or two.
I was concerned about how I would get along with the other girls but I acted naturally- I treated everyone with respect and kindness and didn't step up like I was hot shit lol. I'm not prone to arguments or jealousy and I think the girls really liked the fact that the 'new girl' wasn't some stuck up bitch but rather was willing to learn. A lot of these girls have been dancing for a long time, so I really do respect that. Some of them just ignored me, which is a-okay by me!
Once I got on stage all my worries melted away because I felt like I was in my own little world up there. Of course, when I got home I was sooo sore. I also gave my boyfriend a gigantic hug for being a truly good man.
Thanks so much for your kind words! I just need to work on being more open with customers, but with you very talented bunch to advise, I should be fine!

Nice to get the initial nerves over with huh ?
Re: I did it...and I was fine!
what do you mean, work on being more open with customers? Like, you feel shy around them and want to be more open and outgoing? That would make sense...but don't be so open about yourself that you lose your self. Kind of like the natives who believed a photograph would steal your soul, it can really hurt when you tell a customer everything about your life, your awesome little world and it turns out they could care less.

congrats! The first time is the scariest.
