Worth Travelling down to Texas? (Newbie)
I've been hearing so many good ( and some dirty ::) ) Things about Texas clubs. I live North of Tex and was wondering if there are any good / quality clubs in Northern Texas. Austin is a little too far for me to travel, but I'd be willing to drive a few hours to my job for a club that nice.
Being in the bible-belt area of Oklahoma it's hard to find much variety here, and there are only about a dozen clubs in the whole state. (that i've seen to be clean or worthwhile. )
Should I keep trying in my state or are there goods to be found in Northern Tex. Keep in mind that I'm new to the industry and they'd have to be willing to hire someone new to stripping.
Thanks! :)

Re: Worth Travelling down to Texas? (Newbie)
You are new so i guess im gonna have to be the one to break it to ya, there really is no promised land of stripping in this economy.
I would learn how to hustle and get some skills before you start driving a few hours to work. Traveling can be lucrative, but in order to make it worth your time, you need to have the skills to bank. If you are expecting to travel to a city that is known for having titty bars becuase some customer told you that you would bank in dallas, you will probably end up going home very dissapointed and pissed off that you have to drive so far.

Re: Worth Travelling down to Texas? (Newbie)
It was mostly Mediocrity (sp?) and other Austin dancers here that have been talking so highly of Texas, ( I personally don't know any dancers / people who have gone to strip clubs, so am totally ignorant save the info I've learned here :) )
But trust me, I am not so naive to think I can just find a good club and that's it, but I would consider going somewhere that you guys really love and maybe get to dance with someone from here. :D
Thanks, though. I am just not so confident in my state to narrow my job searching to this state. :|

Re: Worth Travelling down to Texas? (Newbie)
I have been in Texas most of my life and worked from here to there in this state. I don't think it's worth traveling here. I think the girls who spoke highly, just got here and hadn't really gotten broken in yet. However I will admit I am not too familiar with Northern Texas. But can't imagine it's all that different. Just my opinion.

Re: Worth Travelling down to Texas? (Newbie)
Thanks for the info. I guess I'd be better off staying where I am ... Oklahoma is just not the first state you think of when you hear sexy-high-tipping state. :( I hope I do okay here, though! :)

correct, and this is to your advantage. other girls dont think of oklahoma as a 'sexy-high-tipping' state. what does this mean for you? Girls are not traveling from all over the country to work in the good ol state of oklahoma. Now people think of Dallas as a 'sexy high tipping' city... therefore girls will travel from all over the country to work there. And a lot of the girls who travel there are hot and have game and are competitive. You will be better off developing game and hustle in a place that is not already flooded with competitive dancers. Then maybe if you feel brave, try out a club elsewhere for fun. But I would seriously work on developing your game where you are and save yourself from the gas money and travel time time.

I've heard Las Vegas is awesome! I would try going there and developing your hustle. You will make mad money anywhere else after you work there, Vegas is a good city to learn the ropes. Also, try South Florida, another huge area full of money for strippers. I've left Dallas, and only work in other cities like the aforementioned, and also Houston. It's awesome $$$ with all the oil and gas billionaires out there. I thought Austin sucked. Nothing but UT college kids.

some guy told me that every woman in houston is a dancer. it made me suspicious of trying there.

Re: Worth Travelling down to Texas? (Newbie)
Thanks so much guys! :) You're right, Athena, that does help! But it alos makes me afraid since I'm so new, there might already be well-known pros out here in the clubs that've been around since I moved here! waa! :D I'll do my best to not lower my standards and go to a shady club if this new one rejects me.
Thanks everyone! :)

Re: Worth Travelling down to Texas? (Newbie)
I would recommend sending photos over to The Lodge in Dallas to see if they'd be interested in you. It's a great club and even if you don't "bank" there its worth the experience.

Would you recommend sending photos to most clubs I apply to? The one I recently applied to didn't even mention sending a picture of myself, they just had a comment and 'about you' section.
Thanks for the info!! :)

I'm in OKC. I work in a highly competitive club where I "bank" and work with some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen (and 5 years dancing I have seen my share of beautiful women). As a newbie I wouldn't actually recommend it, these girls go hard. Most new girls usually sit around looking lost in contrast to the uber crowded and fast paced (not to mention intimidating) environment. We have a sister club in Tulsa which is equally great. We have a new Little Darlings opening in the city tomorrow and most of us will be splitting time between both clubs. I won't know til at least tomorrow how that club will be but it is the only club in OKC with CRs.
I agree with those who said to hone your hustle before going out of your way. I don't know any specific clubs in NTX but I knew a few girls who worked in Denton and did reasonably well. There are several clubs here in OKC but I wouldn't consider them worth the gas money unless you are comfortable with the business and your hustle. I started out in a shit hole but it helped me a lot to adjust.
I would question what you consider good money to be. I wonder what girls are expecting now because although there is still good money, its not what it used to be.

Re: Worth Travelling down to Texas? (Newbie)
^ I am definitely not going to be heartbroken if I walk away with 200 max every night. I am hating my current job and do NOT want to start working 40 hours a week at another job I hate. Stripping is very appealing to me because I think I'd be a natural at it, and I wouldn't be turned off by low earnings my first few weeks. I'm mostly looking to be comfortable and have fun making money by entertaining people.
Trust me I'm not doing this because I think I can cap 1,000k plus every night. Just looking to have a good time. :D

I wasn't sure if this post was sarcastic. You pretty much named all the cities most people warn to stay away from. Houston is a hard place to make money. There is money to be had, but you gotta really hustle. It's swarming with women and extras everywhere. And then all the busts. Ugh. Yeah, Austin sucks in my opinion as well. Too many college kids.

if you want to have fun entertaining people and make that phat cash, why not be a clown? (for some reason this is actually a side business of several women i know, and they really enjoy it.) sure the people are children, but you get paid upfront and the gigs are short. folks still very much want to spend on their children.
you could even split that business into naughty and nice clown bookings, if you wanted to retain the adult-entertainment aspect.

Ladies, hurry and book your flight on Southwest Airlines to one of the major money making cities, flights are cheap right now!

Yes, and you'll be making THOUSANDS a night! }:D You won't even have to do lapdances, guys will just tip you that much on stage.

Re: Worth Travelling down to Texas? (Newbie)
Wow... gotta love the sarcasm! LOL
Firewall, I think sometimes its a good idea to send photos in advance because even though the club may still want to see you in person, they can also let you know if you are even in the ball park of what they are looking for.

Well, the club I was previously persuing is out of the question at the moment for age reasons. :-\ However I'm looking into another one, and seeing as it's relatively close to where I live ( and there's no 'apply' section on their site. ) I'll probably end up just goingin and auditioning! :D hah.

Re: Worth Travelling down to Texas? (Newbie)
oklahoma clubs are much cleaner, with low stage fees, than texas clubs. i've been in both.

Re: Worth Travelling down to Texas? (Newbie)
I travel to work in Dallas...but I also have a few established customers there, I have social capital with the staff, and I have a free place to stay.
If I didn't have a regular lined up, I didn't have rapport with the staff to get referrals to the best tables, and I had to pay for a hotel room.....I'd stay at my home club.

Re: Worth Travelling down to Texas? (Newbie)
I think the best way to make more money is take some sales classes and change how you work the floor. We're always on the floor looking for the same guy with a different face. Going to another city just means looking for the same guy with a different face in a different style chair.

Re: Worth Travelling down to Texas? (Newbie)
I'm just gonna be blunt:
Dallas can be a lucrative market for dancers... WHO ARE ALREADY AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME.
Are you a 10? Do you consistantly outearn other 10s? Can you consistantly earn $ on nights when most other girls go home broke? Do you feel comfortable (and excell at) selling $300/hr vips? Do you feel comfortable working with 50-150 other dancers? Can you make good $ without providing extras, even if half your competition provides them? Are you already an experienced dancer?
If you answered yes to all of those questions, then you should do fine there. Otherwise, you're just traveling to your competition and paying to lose.
Dallas is a very, very competitive scene and you'll need some serious hustle to work it's customers, as they don't fork the $ over as easily as they do in other areas. Girls from all over the US flock there to work. What can you offer that they can't?
Don't get me wrong, not all Dallas dancers are perfect. But competition is far fiercer and more aggressive there than the rest of the US (w/ the exception of Vegas, NYC, and Tampa). Because Dallas is geographically isolated from the rest of the country, it isn't cheap to travel here. Therefore I would never recommend traveling there to a new dancer.
Do also know that the best dancers from Oklahoma, Louisana, and Arkansas regularly flood Dallas clubs on the weekends. So if you're hoping to dodge your local competition, it's not gonna happen.
While Oklahoma has lower earning potential, money there is easier to make. IMO, the customers are more laid back, less jaded, and the contact is cleaner. That's actually the best way to get started. Work some local dives where you don't have to struggle to sell a dance. Read hustle hut, perfect your sales skills, then work your way up to bigger and better things!
