Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
Hi ladies, do you have a pole in your apt/house or know much about the pole? I am buying an xpole and I want one that is the standard size (the ones at the club), they come in 55 and 45 mm and I don't know which one to get! Please help me out. I don't want to practice on the 45 mm at home if the clubs usually have 55 mm.

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
I think 55mm is the standard club size. Good luck! May your bruises heal quickly!

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
The X pole comes in 50mm and 45mm.
The "standard" is usually 50mm or 2inches (51mm)

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
I have the gold xpole in the 55mm, i recommend the gold one because it grips better than the stainless

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
Yes I just got the titanium gold one 55 mm , I can't wait to get it!

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
I have the cheap-ass Carmen Electra pole in my bedroom, and I love it! But I'm really not great with it yet.
Good luck with yours! Youtube has great how-to videos!

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
Where the hell are you buying these 55mm X-Poles? Because there's no such thing.
They are 50mm standard, or 45mm skinny (and 42mm skinny in Aus)

omg! Me too! I was too cheap to buy an expensive (though probably better quality) one until I found out if I would stick to the new pole hobby! I love my pole, but sucks that it's not smooth all the way down - the bolts at the bottom hurt to slide over!!! I will probably invest in a pro pole this year as my skill level increases :)

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
Do you guys have any suggestions for putting up an X-pole on a ceiling that has that "beaded" texture? I don't want to have to pay to fix my ceiling when I move out haha
-
Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
my ceiling is textured too, there is nothing you can do to prevent it from getting rubbed...sorry
-
Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
I have the "skinny" (45mm?) xpole. I have kinda small hands so for me the skinnier the pole the better
My club has these thick crappy poles, I think they're like fireman's poles or poles from home depot or something. Either way, hard as fuck to grip onto, twirl around, etc. I can't do shit on them. So I wasn't really concerned w/ getting a home pole that in any way matched the ones at my job.

Man, i want a titanium gold x-pole so bad! jealous!

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
Oops I meant 50 mm. I have a slippery ass cheap pole right now and its time for an upgrade now that I'm taking pole classes and getting really good.

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
Any tips on putting one up in an apartment? It would be my luck I'd ruin the ceiling and have to call my landlord and explain.
I found a place here in town to take a class, and as soon as I can get ahold of the place that teaches it, I'm off to my first class on Wed night.

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
I have a lil mynx. It does create a slight hole in the ceiling...and rubs (textured ceiling). When I move, I will have to get that fixed. I don't care though-I love my pole. I do practice it on, and I am taking pole lessons-they are super fun. The only time during the week when I am truly happy right now is during the lessons.
When I move, I want to get an xpole...the lil mynx isn't very stable-it moves around too much. Does the xpole do the same, because I heard it doesn't. I have read that once it is installed, even though it's removeable, it is very stable. Is this true?

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
Yes it is stable and doesn't shake at all. My old cheap $100 pole shakes like crazy luckily no accidents. Xpole is also seamless which I like. I have so many holes in my apartment's walls and ceilings. I plan to get that fixed before I move though.

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
the x-pole was pretty easy to put up, i recommend two people though...one to hold it up and one to tension it. my x-pole has never wobbled or slipped I did tighten the screws once after i used it for two months. my 200lb husband did an inverted move and it stayed put :) oh and wipe it clean often i only recommend windex original formula. When you first get an xpole it is coated with a light wax so it doesnt get scratched during shipping.. it took a few days of using and cleaning before it didn't feel really slippery.

X-poles are very strong. They use them in my classes. I just did a photo session on a stainless x-pole. I slipped and landed on my right temple of my head. I'm fine, but now have a purple eye. I'm going w/ a gold titanium.
I just did the shoot a little over a week ago and will post pics as soon as I get my disc.

As to X-poles being strong: there are a few girls around 200 lbs. or so in my classes and they have no problems with it at all. And some of them are pretty darned graceful.

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
well i have the KENDRA SPORT POLE BY XPOLE
That seems like the best option cuz i can put it up by myself, bottom loading. its 45 mm , i can use it on any texture ceiling, very sturdy . =)
249.99 +tax 274 and some change.
skipped the 40$ shipping fee and picked it up at BESPUN in Los Angeles, CA

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
I have a chrome spinning pole bolted into the ceiling/floor of my pirate bar room. I love it!!! I've finally started using it again for regular practice/workout sessions. I forgot who made it for me I bought it such a long time ago it seems, I think it's a Platinum Stages pole though. However, I was pissed off when it first arrived. It was not easy at all to install and my roommate who is quite the handyman had to custom-bolt the damn thing where it is. But overall, I'm pleased with it.
-
Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
I have a platinum stages portable pole that can spin too. I've had it for 5 years now and also have a textured ceiling and haven't had any problems with it. I did put a little piece of cardboard between the pole and ceiling though because when I took it down some of that popcorn stuff used to fall of the ceiling and I live in an apartment. I want to get a brass pole sooo bad tho! Happy poling, I'm addicted!

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
x-pole now has a bottom loading pole called the xpert and it is even more seamless...I want to sell my xpole I have now for an xpert

Re: Do you have a pole or are good with the pole?
I dunno why my titanium gold x pole is so slippery, I actually fell off of it last week and hurt my side/back, feels like I cracked a rib because it even hurts to laugh or get out of bed. I have wiped it down with alcohol, windex, everything. Also I have had this pole since the first posting of this thread. so its not like its brand new either. The x poles (chrome) at my pole fitness class is not slippery at all, and the brass pole and stainless steel pole at work isn't slippery like that either. What the hell!
