Turning a digi cam into a webcam
Hi,
So I know it's possible to turn a digital camera into a high quality webcam. I've read as much as i could and followed youtube tutorials but still cannot get a picture.
Does anyone know how to do this?
I have a Canon powershot a560 and an easycap video capture usb thing. i've installed the easycap syntek drivers and the camera's drivers. i have the easycap connected to the laptop usb. coming out of the easy cap are an s-video port, a red and white audio port, and a yellow cvbs. the a/v cable for my camera has a black and white plug in thingy, so i connected white with white, and black with yellow (?). then the end of that cord is going into the video out hole in my camera (when that's plugged into camera, the picture on the camera screen itself goes black).
i've tried downloading debut video capture, and made sure the camera's source was coming from the syntek device.
I cannot get a picture though. All I see are black and white lines.
One youtube video said, after you plug everything in, just goto my computer and click on syntek icon to open your camera, but there is no syntek icon..and i cannot find it.
sorry if this is super confusing but i have no idea what i'm doing and can't explain very well.
if anyone knows how to do this. please let me know. i feel like im missing a connection somewhere.
also, another usb cable came with the easycap but i dont know what it's for. anyways, thanks in advance!
