I go to school Monday - Thurs from 8:30 am - 12:30 to a school thats an hour away from me. I usually work on the weekends - my club requires a minimum of 3 days and we have no set schedule except for those days. If i want, I can go in after school since our club opens at noon. It really depends on how much work you have to put into your classes and how often they are. But it's really a sterotype, a girl stripping her way through school.
It works for me just fine, you just have to find a balance and figure out how much time you'll have to devote to both.
Good luck!
i do it. my club doesn't have a set schedule, and since i don't have classes fridays, and only one class tuesday and thursday, i try to work mondays, wednesdays, fridays and saturdays, if i have alot of homework, i won't come in, and if i have no homework, i'll go in on days that i normally don't. i always try to bring in a little homework to do if the club isn't busy.
its great. I used to work a regular job and was always tired... when I started dancing I def have a lot more free time because you make your own schedule. so if you are busy w school, you don't have to go in. (thats assuming that u work at a club that doesn't require a schedule)
plus the money is good... only thing that really worries me is someone I know seeing me. other than that, dancing while in school def gives me the flexibility I need and the money to pay the bills
Did it for my whole college experience, and I would do it again. So much better than anything else! However, as I warn so many people on here, you CANNOT get caught up in stripping. It cannot become your life if you truly want to graduate. It is soooo easy to start thinking, "oh, I can skip a class to go work or hang out with friends or party". Or, oh, "this 300 dollars is sooo worth spending on that pair of shoes (or outfit, makeup, etc) instead of paying tuition-after all, I can make it back next shift". DONT let this happen.
As for balancing time-easy. Take classes later in the day, or just stay up after work and sleep in the afternoon. And since you only work a couple nights a week, it's simple to get homework done. Honestly, it's easier to balance stripping than any other job. :)
For a resume's sake, I would volunteer to do something in your field, such as tutoring if your teaching, or volunteering at an animal or people hospital if your medical related, etc.
Thanks so much for all this feedback! Also, are you open to your friends about your job as a stripper, or do you keep it a secret?
I only told those friends I could trust not to blab to everyone, especially potential recommendation letter-teachers, and potential employers or fellow empoyees.
I also told only those friends who could mentally and emotionally handle it, ie, not bible thumpers.
I've got classes (full time student) from 9 am - 5 pm, Tuesday - Saturday. I'd probably work from 6 pm - 1 am; Mon - Thurs (So I have free weekends to do whatever I want). Be in bed by 2 am. Wake up at 8 am, and go to school at 8:50 (School is right across the street from where I live).
only my roomates knew. cause i'd come home at 4 am smelling like smoke.
oh, and the one time a teacher came in, he found out too, LOL.
