how to "up" the tipping activity in a dead room
Last night I went club hopping with a friend. Each club had girls that were either hanging from the bars or poles, looking really bored. The one club that had an active dancer had four people, not sitting at the stage but close enough to tip, yet their wallets weren't out. Each club had enough 'wallets' in it yet the energy just wasn't there.
What can a dancer do to start the tipping or up the energy level? Start doing a more upbeat dance? Remove a top? What strategies work to pull tippers over to the stage OR liven up the ones that are already there?

When you are not on stage, tip the girl on stage. Yes, with your very own dollar. Tell her to pass it on to the next girl who isn't getting tipped or whatever. If you are sitting with a customer near the stage be like "wooo! lets tip her!".
I have -never- had a guy say no. Sometimes if they have stacks of 1s but they arent doing anything with them I'll be like "Mind if I take a dollar to go tip her?"
If you get enough girls doing this, it increases the energy in the room and it will also come back to you once you're on stage. Too often girls think of this as "giving another girl the customers money". pffffffff. Customers tipping is good for everyone in the long run. Not to mention it gets him in his wallet and creates a "chain" of spending, so to speak.

That's a great Idea! I'm going to have to try that one
Re: how to "up" the tipping activity in a dead room
a few years ago me and my friend would start a "lucky dollar" at the beginning of the night, and whoever had it would go up to a girl on stage and tip her with it if the guys were being stingy and be like "woohoo yay hot naked girls". Amazingly, the dollar would make it around to almost every girls set by the end of the night and would usualy not get lost!
Re: how to "up" the tipping activity in a dead room
oooh good ideas! when no one is tipping me and i'm onstage i ask men to tip me, and they sometimes say they like how i asked
Re: how to "up" the tipping activity in a dead room
great suggestions, thank you! Last night I grabbed my own tip stash and when the other girls were dancing, I took turns with them ..I'd make sure the guys were watching and I'd tuck a dollar in my bra strap and the dancer would take it ..a group of guys were so turned on by this, they started giving me their dollars just to watch the dancer on stage take them from my bra :) it changed a quiet room into a fun one and the dancers's confidence picked up instantly

Make noise. Who cares if they think your crazy. Even if it's a "good evening!!!" yelled with a smile or a "woohoo I can't wait to take my clothes off!". Single guys out for tips. Stuff like "YOU! (pointing at a guy) get up here!"
Re: how to "up" the tipping activity in a dead room
I ask to go on stage. Then, I proceed to do a stage set to the following:
Cotton Eye Joe - Rednex
Thriller - Michael Jackson
Complete with Thriller dance moves and a lot of retarded cowgirl shit. Gets the crowd going Every. Single. Time. I have literally never had this fail.
;D

Don't think the "lucky dollar" thing would work at my club...like the second girl would pocket it and say nothing.
Re: how to "up" the tipping activity in a dead room
i hustle with another girl and when there's no stage tips, one of us sits at the tip rail and gets really into it we tip each other, back and forth with a set amount of money so there's no confusion. hasn't failed yet to bring at least one guy to start tipping, and they will usually tip well. we will only do this once or twice though, depending on the rotation. same idea as pretty penny's.
Re: how to "up" the tipping activity in a dead room
Our new owner has us girls going up to the stage and tipping each other.
Guys look like jackasses when we go up and tip, turn and say "isn't she hot? it's your turn..."
And if it's a REALLY bad night sometimes we give each other the money back to each other in the dressing room ;)
Re: how to "up" the tipping activity in a dead room
Your DJ can work wonders for you in this situation!! IMO, a "dead room" can sometimes be the result of a lame DJ.
Our DJ keeps the crowd on it's toes 24/7. When they are being lame, he calls them out. When they are being awesome, he rewards them. He recognizes very quickly when it's a "dead room" and does everything in his power to change it......and if it's not happening fast enough then he'll just straight out start ragging on the customers. I wish I could think of some of the lines he uses, but they are goooood.......not personally offensive but very cleverly worded and funny. If your are a guy in the club just sitting there with a frown not tipping, you will feel like a fucking jackass if you don't start once our DJ starts getting on your ass. He is also in charge of calling shot and drink specials, so we can always throw out a $1 Jagerbomb and that usually wakes everyone up.
He'll even start to single people out in the crowd that have been sitting near the stage and doing the duldrum "stare" for too long not tipping and looking miserable. I have seen people like that LEAVE all to be replaced by people who are there to have a good time, smile, tip and get dances.
Silly songs and dances work every time for me and he's all about it. If we have a dead room, I'll go up to the booth and be like "What will it be tonight? Ice Ice Baby or The Humpty Dance?":P

I respect this.
Re: how to "up" the tipping activity in a dead room
I second the lame dj. I work with a dj most nights that just watches tv int he booth and plays the music and says the drink specials at the end of each girl's set.
Re: how to "up" the tipping activity in a dead room
We always went up and tipped the other girls on a dead or busy night but always brought one or two of the customers from big groups with us. And if I was on stage and I wasn't getting tips even though I was busting my ass on stage I would smack my heels loudly into each other because that got their attention and they always got the idea. Goofy dances always get them too, gotta make them laugh sometimes :D

Re: how to "up" the tipping activity in a dead room
at my club in NOVA, when no one was tipping or sitting at the stage, all the girls would get up and sit at the stage ourselves, cheering and goofing around, paying all our attention to the girl(s) onstage...and totally ignoring the non-tipping customers. }:D They soon realized that to get any attention at all from any girls, they'd have to be up here at the stage with us...and tipping well! I really cannot recall a night where this didn't work like a charm.
