My standard go to Cash set is "G-d's Gonna Cut You Down" and "Hurt".
I also like him in when he was a Highwayman, but not really for work.

I'm a metal head too and I fuckin' love Johnny Cash. The guy was just so unbelievably cool and he had a really good heart too.

He's the type of artist that everyone should listen to. It's funny when the alternative stations started playing his later music. He was gangster before it was possible.

Tempest, you seem to be into a lot of the same kind of music as I am. I love Johnny Cash as well. Let us know if you came across any awesome rockabilly bands, please!!!

Horrorpops are more psychobilly but I've danced to some of their stuff before
Re: Why I love Johnny Cash
I LOVE Johhny Cash too! One of my all time favorites. I never thought to dance to him though.. Well, except for Ring of Fire.. but that was for a fire dance show.
Re: Why I love Johnny Cash
Love Cash. I dance to Everlasts version of Folsom Prison Blues a lot and even though it isn't strip club fare...if it's dead or I'm drinking I demand Merle Haggard! Love it!
Re: Why I love Johnny Cash
the folsom prison blues cover by everlast goes well with the ring of fire cover by social distortion for a two song set.

The only folks who will disagree are us restaurant workers. . . . At one point, I was working in two lunch restaurants that played almost nothing but J. Cash . . . because he was the only artist that no one would complain about. . . . It slowly drove me mad.
We were playing the Smiths one day and an old lady came up the the counter. . . . "Can you play something a little less controversial?" And on goes the J. Cash.
