House Fee & Pole dancing!!!
Hello Everyone!....;D
Just had some thoughts about house fee..in clubs when dancing? and would like some opinions...how much in your opinion is too much?...so much..that you would'nt bother with the club all together in fear of not earning anything due to it????
sigh.... the thought of paying house fee per night upfront...it just seems so scary!...it would be easier if it was per week or prehaps if you could pay it at the end of the night out of what you've earned!!!
I mean what do you do..if say one night was a bad one and you simply did'nt earn enough one night and could'nt pay it....or didnt earn enough to cover the house free you've paid in the first place???:O
ive tried out for audtions at two clubs...one that charges £60 per night and another thats (for night shift) £55 before 7pm and £85 after....
frankly they are both a little off putting....but i just want other dancers views on this..../:O
my second....thoughts are on dancing on the pole..when it comes to dancing and your a newbie...would you suggest...getting lessons first? or going in cold turkey?...
as im a newbie and dancing on the pole can be quite...tricky (speaking from experience:D lol) if you've never had training or anything do you think that in time it is possible without practise a newbie dancer could learn how to dance on a pole by themselves?..and maybe become a pro or are training/lessons vital for all dancers?
and for those based in London does anyone know of anyone cheapish classes or lessons?
Thanks

If the fees ever get to the point that between house fees and tip-outs I wasn't taking home at least 60% of what I earned then I would probably say "forget it". You have to remember that whatever your take home is you will also have taxes taken out of that. Most of the time though I only look at what I'm taking home and decide based on that number if it's worth it to stay at the club.

Hi Kylea2!
When you say 60% do you mean as in earn 60% of the house fee youve paid to dance in the club?

Re: House Fee & Pole dancing!!!
If I'm honest those house fees seem pretty good for London. I pay £80 in Bristol (!). But there again I've gone home with £250 profit, and I've gone home in the red too. (actually made my house fee, but then had to pay for my taxi home).
Further north I've paid £40, which was later dropped to £20 when no custies came in. (I made £20 that night).
In Birmingham you can pay £100+ and sometimes commission too.
As Kylea said, it depends on whether the club can regularly make you a good profit, NOT the exact figure on the fee.

Hello Bubble!
WHOA! £100 + house fee! + commission on top! i wonder how do dancers earn anything in there??????
i guess i can't complain in that sense...so i take it you just take the housefee out of what you earn one night...for the next one your due to work and so on?...but what if then..you don't earn enough to do that....do you pay it out of your own money??????

Re: House Fee & Pole dancing!!!
I think a lot of clubs will drop house fee if its not been busy, coz if you dont make it, then you cant give it to them, some clubs want you to pay up front but from what i can gather, most just take it out at the end of the night. Our club fines girls who sit on their bums all night and dont even try to earn though, just make sure ur up on the rules and regs of each club you audition at, an u shd be ok.
Makes me glad my club is commision only, if you dont earn, then you don't owe! Fingers crossed for a lucrative weekend! Last weekend was sucky :(
Re: House Fee & Pole dancing!!!
^^ wish my club was like that. My club, you better have your house fee or you're staying til you do have it. If you don't have it at the end of the night you get a suspension. They figure that you know you're going to have to pay the fee, so if you might not make it then bring cash with you or use the ATM etc. That being said, I think our house fee is pretty reasonable so if people are struggling to make it regularly then maybe they're in the wrong job anyway.
Re: House Fee & Pole dancing!!!
60% of what I earned being how much I better be taking home. If the club feels they deserve more than I do... there is a problem. Really though it comes down to what the actual take home amount is on average.
Re: House Fee & Pole dancing!!!
The only clubs that I refuse to work at are ones that take more than 30% ($$ per dance or champagne room). My current club charges $130/night regardless of the time you come in (unless you're in for day shift at 11am). I always make three times that and more taken home so the house fee isn't a huge deal, however, it is really high for lower-earning women. Honestly, I've never had a problem with house fees, up front or collected at the end. I just know flat rates are better than percentages.
Re: House Fee & Pole dancing!!!
Honeybronze, take the housefee in with you on your first night, then the 2nd nights house fee will come out of your first nights earnings, and so on.
I used to do this, then work out at the end of the week what my profit was. This way I was never stuck for where to find the house fee from.

If they didn't, the club wouldn't be able to charge that much. This is a high-profile club in the middle of a street full of bars. it's totally stag party country. The girls DO earn enough to make it worth it.
Oh. and I only once paid my house fee at my club straight up when I arrived. Only the once. They totally over-filled it with girls. There were about 3x too many by the time i got there. I sat in the DR until they gave me back my HF and I could go home. I was doing THEM and ME a favour.
Re: House Fee & Pole dancing!!!
I think house fees have gotten rediculous, only four or five years ago I thought $20 was a high stage fee. Now that I am charged so much I cant be as generous at tip out to the bouncers, waitresses and dj, which totally sucks. Kylea2 is right though, focus on you take home to see if a place is worth it.
With pole dancing, as with most things in life, just effen go for it! It's fun!

Hell yeah! :)
Re: House Fee & Pole dancing!!!
I'm still too new to comment but will share that my current club charges a seventy dollar house fee, and we pay ten percent of private shows, another ten percent goes to the dj. It's not bad on the nights I've made a decent stash of cash but I've walked home close to the red a couple nights now. My club does not serve alcohol and has a higher cover charge than other clubs in the area. After one month and listening/learning about private show hustling, I'm tying in first place with one other girl.. both of us average more shows than other girls..
Compared to the club next door that pays their dancers ten dollars an hour, there is no house fee but you share the private shows and VIPS half and half. You can also 'sell' drinks and keep half of that. Business in down in our entire area but I'd still like to know I'm walking out with at least a little bit of money. I have an audition at the club next door on Wednesday.
